American Idol Finalist Melinda Doolittle

What can you say about Meinda Doolittle? Flawless voice, humble personality, and one of the most consistent performers on American Idol this season. This former backup singer has really found a home in the spotlight and seems to be on track to take one of the top three spots on the show this season.

Melinda's rendition of "Home" on March 13 was just amazing... Paula broke down in tears and I'm pretty sure I saw Simon sniffling a bit as well. I look forward to her every week!

Well, we knew it was too good to last.. Melinda was voted out last week and now it's down to Blake and Jordin. No bet on who will win, I'd be surprised if ti wasn't Jordin - but then again, who knows!

An interesting read on Howard Stern News where they speculate that Howard Stern's investigatation into vote fixing may have influenced the show producers to give Melinda Doolittle the boot. The article states, in part:

""Does Howard 100 News owe an apology to American Idol contestant Melinda Doolittle? A source inside the show claims that American Idol was reportedly in a panic yesterday to put the brakes on a Howard 100 News investigation into voting on the FOX talent show. This source alleges the show decided to switch horses at the last minute, that contestant Blake Lewis was allegedly scheduled to be told to go home last night, until Idol producers changed their minds..."
