Amethyst Gemstone is from the Quartz Family. Amethyst is a semi precious gemstone. This stone is available in purple to bluish violet in colour.This gemstone is considered as a symbol of nobility, sincerity, security and peace of mind.This gemstone is ruled by Mars, Saturn and Jupiter. This stone is used as a substitute for blue sapphire, the gemstone of Saturn.

Amethyst Gemstone derives its name from the Greek word "amethystos" which means "not drunken". Amethyst is the birthstone of February. This stone is also suitable for those born on the Zodiac Signs Pisces, Sagittarius, Aries, Capricorn and Aquarius.Amethyst is also the wedding anniversary gemstone for the 4th, 6th year and 17th year of marriage. Amethyst gemstone color is considered a royal color and has adorned British Crown Jewels.This stone was also thought to encourage celibacy and is used to increase spirituality.
