An error occurred connecting to the URL: Read timed out
71
The FeedBurner and our pain, headache was the name I gave to the post where you gave the account of a serious problem, which prevented the update of the FeedBurner feed, and therefore the distribution of our content via email.
This morning I finally solve the problem, yet it has created another ... less serious!
For those less familiar with these issues I now, my apologies for being in this issue but this is an issue that needs some explanation for those who, like me, live the blogosphere so intense, I have a significant number of loyal readers and have had the same problem. In addition to the subscribers by e-mail should, above all, a justification.
So here goes ...
As already mentioned, the FeedBurner not walk to the update of the original feed, since the day on April 22. Therefore the dissemination of the messages did not blog from the following day, April 23, 2009. The latest news which will have received (I speak only for the subscribers by e-mail) was related to the Earth Day, right?
Each time I tried to FeedBurner in remedying the situation, always appeared the following message "An error occurred connecting to the URL: Read timed out". Today, after much research and reading just to discover the problem. Everything has started when we did the upgrade to version 2.71 of WordPress, version which ends up being incompatible with some plugins designed for previous versions. This was what happened to one of the many plugins we have installed and have allowed the operation of the blog, the way the know. After having discovered the plugin in question and to take off, finally managed to do a resync in FeedBurner and it has returned, apparently to normal. The only problem now is that you can not show you which posts are the "Most Popular". The plugin now disabled and who brought us such a headache was the "Popularity Contest," which allowed the operation of division "Most Popular".

Hello Joni.
No only "Popularity Contest" cause this error. Try to do the same that i did. Deactivate all your plugins and then activate one-by-one until you find out the one that is causing the trouble. Them just deactivate that one.
Good luck!
I had the same problem and found that the Redirection (Version 2.1.24) plugin was causing this same error message. I am using WP 2.8.6.
Thanks for this post.

Help! I keep getting that same feedburner error message, "An error occurred connecting to the URL: Read timed out" and I don't know what to do to fix it. I don't have the WordPress Plugin "Popularity Contest,". I am using WordPress 2.8.
