An idea for an insomniac

My idea

Laying in bed a few nights ago I realized there are two kinds of insomnia I tend to get. Now, when I talk about insomnia I'm not talking necessarily days or months of not being able to fall asleep. I am simply talking about a day or two here or there when you have trouble falling asleep. The two categories my insomnia falls into are mental and physical. The mental side is when my brain is going a million miles a minute and won't stop long enough to realize I am exhausted and could use some sleep. The other kind generally occurs when I've done nothing much all day, I will lay in bed and though my mind is tired and wants to sleep my body refuses, "But I still have some juice left in me. Come on lets go for a run!" it seems to say. I may have finally come to a conclusion on how to beat both types. For the mental variety I generally try and write either a to-do list out, if that seems to be what's bothering me or, if it's a little of everything, I sit down either at my computer(bad for insomnia I know), or with a pen and paper and write anything and everything that is on my mind. I don't really think about what I'm writing I just write what comes to mind and see where it takes me. I think there have been a few times in the past when I mistook physical insomnia for mental insomnia and was rather frustrated when writing didn't help. Thankfully I have figured out a way to fix this. I work out. Easy, isn't it? I usually do a few arm workouts, punches anyone? Some ab work, a few crunches maybe, and some legs, kicks are fun. These are easy to do, require nothing but my own body and generally exhaust me physically enough to fall asleep. So, the next time you find yourself laying in bed unable to fall asleep try my advice. Good luck!
