Anchored In Christ
When upon the sea of life I am tossed,
when all my sanity I seemed to have lost.
Where do I turn to go, with a wind of trouble,
that never tires to sway my soul,
when answers to life’s questions, I just don’t know?
How do I stand in the tempest, while waves of worry wear me down?
How do I cope when loneliness within me sets,
when I look and no one else is around,
to help me through, the course of life’s test?
Who understands when daily burdens,
I’d like to escape and not share,
when patience runs out,
when life all around us, just seems so unfair?
To find stillness in your vessel,
when life gets so heavy and you want to drop,
take down your sails of self, to keep you from drifting.
Let loose of the wheel, give up the lead,
drop your anchor with all of the rope,
look to God and don’t give up hope.
Our God is able to walk, with waves beneath his sandals,
it is time to surrender, with your life in shambles!
Our God is still, in the fury of the tempest.
It is time dear soul, turn to God and hold tight,
knowing in His love, you will be alright.
Our God is able to calm your vessel.
It is time to let God be,
as true to you, as He is to Me.
“Be still and know that I am God” Psalms 46:10

Thanks again for stopping by. You know I originally wrote this for a womens group in 1995. Gicky's latest hub prompted me to edit including everyone. God bless you today and tomorrow!
I have a copy of "Stormy Sea" by Rembrandt and this Hub reminded of that. Thank you for the fine poetry. I enjoyed it.
I'll have to look the "Stormy Sea" up. Thanks for reading.
Timely, this is beautiful and I could so relate! Jesus is truly our peace and solace, our very present help in times of trouble! God bless you, sister!
Thank you, very present is so true! We need to always remember to hold on tight, he will never leave us, but at times we get caught up in the moment we let go:)
Thank you for this lovely hub, good food for thought.
Thank you Rebecca. I'm glad you stopped by. Have a great day:)
Thank you for this great hub. I will return here again and again to remind myself that it's Him who leads and me that follows. Thanks again.
John, Thanks for reading. We all do need a reminder when life gets overwhelming. It takes a strong person to admit they need to follow, which in turn makes them a leader in their faith:)
