And Now, Give a Warm Welcome to the One and Only DUBYA!
71If He’s Such a Great Guy, Why Does He Shun His Adoring Public?
ALL HAIL!
Why do you suppose it is that, wherever George W. Bush goes in the world only a carefully selected few may hear him speak? If he were just a great guy, as he would have us believe, why would he find it necessary to isolate himself everywhere he goes? If he were a wise and beloved world leader whom everyone honored and respected for his magnanimous, fair and peaceful foreign policies, would not people be flocking to shower him with praise? Surely, since he repeatedly assures everyone that he is doing what is best for us all, he should be welcomed with open arms everywhere in the world.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-burnett/frostnixon-nixonbush_b_29780.html "Bush seems similarly inclined to believe that others are out to get him. He, too, barricades himself in the White House, surrounded by a small clique of true believers. Plots his revenge."
When John Kennedy traveled within America or abroad, it was common to see him to appear before large crowds of average Americans. Most prior presidents have spent a good deal of time speaking before the public. I can recall no time when any president has resorted to the Bush tactic of completely stacking the deck for virtually all speaking events. If such was the case, I do not believe the public was ever informed.
Even Adolf Hitler spoke to huge crowds as he was plotting world conquest. In the beginning, I suppose he had most of his listeners convinced that what he was doing was right.
So what is Dubyas' problem? If he knows he is right, and he has never admitted a mistake, why should he be concerned about who is in his audience? If, on the other hand, he uses this tactic because he knows he is doing wrong, why does he refuse to change direction?

These are but a few of over a quarter million hits documenting the fact that nearly all the audiences allowed to hear Bush speak are carefully screened to make sure that there will be no dissenters asking awkward questions.
Bush is now consistently scoring record low approval ratings. Richard Nixon's numbers look almost good in comparison.
"For the seven days ending June 14, just 31% approved of the way the President is performing his job. Sixty-seven percent (67%) disapproved. Those figures are unchanged from a week ago and match the lowest level of approval ever recorded." http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/political_updates/president_bush_job_approval
The statistical evidence of the criminality of the Bush administration is literally overwhelming and has been common knowledge as it has grown, exponentially, during both his terms. Why is he still in office?
No president in history is more deserving of impeachment than the pretender that now occupies the White House. His very presence there is the first in a long list of high crimes and misdemeanors and crimes against humanity.
As I am sure you are aware, Dennis Kucinich has presented Articles of Impeachment. Read them in their entirety here: http://chun.afterdowningstreet.org.nyud.net:8080/amomentoftruth.pdf

They may be waiting for cushy jobs but, the way things are going, they better start looking for property in Parguay so they can join dubya in exile.
Seems like you're about the only person even reading my Hubs. Guess the rest just don't have the stomach for reality.
Thanks for being there.
No body was complaning about Bush right after 9/11. Yes Bush has made mistakes anyone can see that but has there been anouther terrorist attack in the US since then? No there hasn't, and that is good enough for me. Everyone hated Regan if you will remember. He was leading us into a nuke war with the USSR but in the end communism fell thanks to the brillant leadership of an unpopular president. Great hub full of true information that was very well researched. You have done a fantastic job. I just don't happen to agree with you this time CWB. Can't wait to read your next hub.
There was no "terrorist attack" on 9/11. There was a false flag act of treason and murder most foul.
The Soviet Union fell because it attempted an invasion and occupation which, combined with its huge military budget, bankrupted the country. Russian youth adopting the rebellious, hippy, rock'n'roll attitude they pirated from America also contributed to the collapse of the regime. Regan had nothing to do with it. He just claimed it and nobody bothered to dispute him.
Regan was a talking head who began the calamitous deregulations that have led us into the quicksand of the "free market", which has destroyed this country. Bill Clinton was very obliging in continuing Raygun’s murder of American Labor and dubya took it to a completely new level.
Regan masterminded the economic collapse of the USSR. He pushed their military budget to the brink by not backing down. The best way to gain peace is through power. Nobody picks on the biggest guy in school because he will kick the crap out of them. The same goes for countries. If you are the biggest and the baddest no one will mess with you because they fear you. Clinton changed the air of fear the rest of the world felt for America by down sizing our military. Nothing good can come from down sizing our military. Their budget should only grow, giving soldiers more money, better weopons, and the best training. Peace through power, that is the way to go. Oh, and if Regan said that he was going to bomb someone he bombed them. We don't need Jimmy Carter we need more bombs. Plus it helps with over population.
The biggest guy in school you describe is better known as the school-yard bully. Eventually all the other kids, who just want to be left in peace, will gang up and kick the shit out of him, which is what he richly deserves. Intimidation is NOT the way to resolve differences. The top gunslinger is always the biggest target and, eventually, someone faster ALWAYS comes along.
What pushed the USSR to bankruptcy was NOT anything Reagan did. It was the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan. We funded Osama bin Laden, a major CIA asset, and the Mujahideen, with the authorization of JIMMY CARTER. This kept Russia bogged down there long enough to break the Russian bank. Reagan, ever the opportunist, happily took credit for this as he did anything that might enhance his image. He was, after all, a consummate actor.
Carters’ decision to provide aid to the rebels of Afghanistan also ultimately gave us Al Qaeda who we are now trying to establish as the new excuse for a permanent state of war and the unilateral, “preemptive” invasion of anyone we so desire.
There is also the wonderful possibility of a Russian revival thanks to our manipulations of the energy market. There is a lot of oil and natural gas there and the wealth it is generating may bless us with the resurrection of an old enemy, giving us further excuses to continue our military conquest of the world.
Remember the last guy who tried that? It did not turn out too well for him either.

Please read this carefully. It is only one of many easily confirmed sources of accurate information. Absorb the details and specifics. Do not settle for dogma, memes, slogans and vague pronouncements because it is easier to do.
I can only hope that your comments regarding the military budget, etc are in jest. If not, then I fear we have some EXTREME differences.
I served in the USAF during this war and am very proud of it. Yes I think we don't get paid enough for the job that we do and yes the budget should only increase. You aren't complaining about being safe so why complain about the money it takes to keep you that way. The next thing that you're going to tell me is that we don't need to go to Iran and kick the shit out of them. The bully only gets ganged up on by all the other kids if all the other kids can take him if they band together. It doesn't matter how many of them come if we beat them all. Yes war is ugly, Yes war is expensive, yes war is necassary. If given enough time man will ultimatly think of more ways to kill other men. It is in our nature and as far as everyone saying that America is a bully. Okay we are bullies but when it's their ass' in a sling who do they call to bail them out. It's the big dumb bully to the rescue. I am proud to be an American. I'm not saying that everything that we do is right I'm just saying that hey nothing we can do about it now so why worry about it. If we pull our troops then those that died have died for nothing. Korea was horrible, Vietnam was even worse. My dad served in Nam and he told me that the government should have let them finish the job that they started. Besides when this war is finally over our economy is going to get the biggest kick in it's ass that it has seen in a very long time. All those boys sitting in the desert with nothing to spend their money on and not having to pay tazes on it as well. The housing market is going to rebound I can guarentee that my friend.
Wow this is the best conversation that I have had in a long time. I appreciate your maturaty CWB. It's nice to know that two people can see things in completly diffrent ways and still listen to what the other has to say.
Tell you what. I don't feel very safe and I'm a lot more scared of my own government than I am of any "terrorist". I don't believe that the housing market will recover or even that America will recover. I think the fat lady is about to sing and it's going to be the new Dark Ages for planet Earth.
It's always good to just be able to say, we'll have to agree to disagree.
Yes we will, but personaly I don't see a return to the Dark Ages as a bad thing. I am a hunter, tracker, farmer, and a pretty damn good blacksmith. I would be just fine if that happend. I also am one of those concervative gun nuts who makes good use of our 2nd ammendment. I am glad that we had this discussion CWB and hope that you write a new hub soon that we can discuss in as much length as this one. Very good hub even if we are the only ones that want to comment on it.
May I ask how much traffic you are getting a day CWB? I wouldn't have asked but I saw the comment you made to pgrundy about her being the only one who is reading your hubs. I find this hard to believe because even though we may not agree on all topics, your hubs are very well writen and thought provoking. You are a very knowledgable individual and I can't believe that your hubs aren't viewed in record numbers.
Just seems most folks here aren't interested in this deep dark stuff I write about. You know, that reality stuff. A little too heavy I guess. pgrundy is an exception and exceptional.
Wow that is a shock CWB. I would have bet my bottom dollar that you would have a very devoted following. I haven't read a single hub from you that isn't both insightful and well writen.
I am dedicating my next hub in your honor CWB. I hate to think that all the informative views and well written points in your hubs go unnoticed. I am going to do my best to boost your views for the sake of intelligent thought.
I do not know how well received that will be, but thank most humbly for your concern and consideration.
I don't know either but rest assured I will do my best.
ColdWar, you just keep going. We're not tone deaf, we're just overwhelmed, but you stay with it...you're getting noticed. You belong with Keith Olbermann -- you both rank #1 with expressing good dislike for a man who deserves every stinking bit of it. This man, our president to me is a traitor. And, many of his staff. I say that carefully, as I'm one of the most patriotic people you will ever meet. However, patriotism doesn't mean accepting him just because he's the President. Respect for the office I still hold. Respect for the man has long since disappeared and our love for America should make us speak.
Well done ColdwarBaby and keep it coming. More are listening than you think, we're just buried in our own words at times. I for one, will tune in here more often.
This picture of Bush is scarey. That extended hand caught in air...chills.
Thank you marisuewrites. Seems like I've got an agent here at HubPages.
Upon respect for the office, we can agree. Stealing the election for the office, TWICE, is something else altogether.
Someone was really on the ball to get that shot. It will become a classic.
Thanks for reading and your valued comments.
You've gained me as a fan, and we are finding more and more against the man and his plan, and I do believe he always had one. Very scarey that is was allowed to the extent of stealing 2 elections....what will happen come November -- we can not be silent.
I agree im not much of a bush fan. he really doesnt deserve to be in office. look at all the things he messed up for the US. and come noverember i have no idea what will happen. is he really going to try to run again?
I'm honored by that marisuewrites. I hope these two petitions won't change your opinion.
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/petition/354405305?|1395328440
It's an excellent site and an excellent petition. I will even take a chance on this one though it's a bit more extreme. Under the circumstances however, I think it's not uncalled for.
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/help-stop-global-
Thanks for reading caicai1015 and, especially, for taking the time to comment. I have not heard any rumors about him running again. It would not be legal for him to do so but that has not stopped him in the past. Besides, he would not really need to. He has created a way to make himself Imperial Dictator if he really wants to. Check it out.
Extremely interesting Hub. Politics and religion of course stir up the most passion and that is the very reason that politics and religion are banned topics in most clubs, organisations and in Masonic forums. I am glad to see that both topics are alive and kicking (Agro donkey) in Hub pages.
The one tongue in cheek story that I heard was that Pappy Bush said to Dubja on taking office "look after our oil interests and start a war and you'll serve two terms son"! It looks like Dubja did both.
I'm glad you're not put off by those two topics sixtyorso. They're probably responsible for more death and destruction than every other cause you can think of put together. They certainly need to be discussed.
Glad to see your comments and hope to see more.
CWC Let the older generation rock on fearlessly!
In 2004 Bush held a rally in Dubuque, Iowa. The fascist (I know him and he is a fascist) who was at the front gate saw an old man coming. The old man had tons of campaign ribbons from WWI & Korea. He landed with the first wave at Normandy. He was wounded but still fought. The guy was a hero.
Well, this fascist (and yes, I know the guy personally and he loves the American White People's Party) asked the old man if he wanted to be on the podium with BUsh. The guy said no, he really didn't like BUsh and was here only to see if he could ask a question.
The old man was immediately hustled away and was refused entrance. I saw this with my own eyes.
Obvious Bush didn't know this was going on, but recently Obama was chastised by the Right Wing Media for the flap over two young girls with headscarves not being allowed on the stage behind him.
I just thought the world should know that these things cut both ways.
Oh, and by the way, I am counting the minutes until Bush steps down, and if for some reason he doesn't, I am also hiding food away because of the revolution that would result from such an action.
Let's hope he doesn't try to steal the 'dictatorship' as he stole (in my humble opinion!) the presidency.
Please, please, tell me there's no chance he could stay in office, I will have nightmares at the possibillity.
Saving food is a good idea, preparation is always safe.
Well, there is some talk, and it's most likely rumor, but knowing the track record of people like Rove and Cheney, and BUsh too, I'm afraid, people who are conting every minute until the end of this administration believe that some National Security crisis will cause the election to be null and void and that martial law will take over.
I know it sounds a bit crazy, but so did going to war in Iraq after Bush adamently told us there was NO CONNECTION between Saddam Hussein and the 9-11 attacks. And since he seemingly and in my opinion purposely ignored advice that didn't jive with Dick Cheney's assessments of Iraq and Nukes, there are some who think that somehow Bush and Cheney have it in their minds that if Obama wins it will be up to them, and them alone, except for Karl Rove and Fox News, to save the United States from itself.
So expect Bill O'Reilly to start handing out pinhead awards to anyone who wants to save America from Bush. That, it seems to me, would be the harkening to battle for all the extreme far Right.
Watch the movie 7 Days in May and tell me if it looks a lot like the scenario I just set out.
Oh, by the way, this scenario is not mine, I'm just telling you what some people fear. Personally, I think we'll get through it OK, although Obama will be torn to shreads by the Republican Attack Machine. Whether he wins or loses, I guess, depends upon the good and common sense of the electorate, and just how much corruption we can weed out before the ballots are cast.
I stillknow of people who firmly believe that the only voting irregularities in the 2000 election in Florida were only in the four heavily Democratic counties. In truth, there were irregularities all over the state.
And of course there were thousands removed from the voting rolls for alleged criminal histories which later were mostly proven to be false. (Yes, some were right - about 10% as I remember.) Many of these same people were lated denied the chance to cast their ballots. All of them, as I recall, were registered as Democrats, and most of them were African American.
And also there were people lined up in Missouri waiting to vote, and someone ordered the pools to close exactly at 7:00 in spite of the hundreds of voters waiting in line. People who got off work and stood in line for hours because of technical irregularities at the polling place were disenfranchised.
And don't even get me started on the voting problems in Ohio!
All in all, whenever someone claims the 2000 election was a farce, there are dozens of reasons why that seems to be true. It goes WAY beyond the hanging chad issue and the Supreme Court refusal to allow the recount to go forward. At least that's my humble opinion.
I always like your humble opinion Chef Jeff. Sorry CWB, I was a bit late coming to this one owing to a bad cold. That was an interesting debate between you and Agro Donkey and I too think you should be getting more traffic. I think that Bush keeps away from anyone who might want to ask him questions because he has no idea how to answer any of them.
CWB, I read your hubs, but you and I share pretty much the same views, so I usually don't comment. Does hitting "Thumbs Up" every time count?
Both elections that Bush "won" were rigged, therefore he has never been elected in the sense that American voters chose him over his opponents. But he isn't gone yet, and there are all sorts of ways he could stay in office, none of which are pleasant. The man is a national embarrassment that we should've been able to get rid of 4 years ago.
Cj, you're right. The audiences for his speeches ARE carefully screened so that Dubya isn't asked questions he has no clue how to answer.
I've been away a while so I'll try to respond to everyone here.
Jeff, as always, you and I see nearly eye to eye. There is absolutely NO DOUBT that BOTH elections were rigged. As far as stealing the "dictatorship", and this is for you also MSW, if you haven't read this please do so. http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05/20 Then, when you finish, google Halliburton contract labor camps and read a few of the hits.
I'm just holding my breath until November. If there is an election then, perhaps, we can expect a stay of execution for maybe even eight years. Let the illusion of America continue a little longer. However, elections are cancelled and martial law declared expect the streets to run red. I'm sorry. I can't see that scenario playing out any other way.
Hey CJ! Glad you could make it. The donkey and I are regular adversaries but not enemies. We at least realize, unlike our rulers, that it's quite possible to coexist with those with whom we disagree.
Welcome JamaGenee and thank you. I think clicking that thumbs up button does in fact help ratings. That's why I always remember to do so, providing of course that I truly feel that way.
I hope I didn't overlook anyone or any important points. I'm in a somewhat difficult place right now so I can't get here as often as I'd like. I hope to post something new before too much longer.
Thank you all and keep on Hubbin.

Kucinich was the only guy with the guts to call for impeachment proceedings and no one would take him seriously. The House and Senate are so corrupt, so in deep the pockets of big oil, pharmaceuticals, and insurance companies, that they no longer even represent us. They represent corporations and they do it for money. A few are decent, honest people, but most are waiting for their cushy lobbyist jobs after their terms in office are over. It's going to get a lot worse here before it gets any better. Thanks for the hub, we are on the same page as usual.
