And So NaNoWriMo Continues on Day 8
7050,000+ words to make a novel
50,000 words or more is a novel? A lot of writing, a lot of brain power, and a lot of imagination are needed to complete this feat. Many authors have this talent but do I have this talent? Do I have the right stuff to make my imagination and my ideas transform into a novel worth reading by others?
I am finding this out right now as I write this by having joined up for National Novel Writing Month, a challenge I have gladly accepted and am doing my best to keep up with in everyday life as I struggle to find a job. But I am enjoying myself, thinking about my story and where it will lead next, not giving away any secrets yet, hence the title of my story Secrets at a Secret School. Though I have had to take a break this weekend, a much needed break I might add, as it has cleared my mind and I am ready to write once again.
So far I have written 17,578 word count, meaning that I have 34,422 words left to make my story complete, 34,422 words that I must shape from my knowledge of my story and characters, breathing life into them and making them shine like a rare stone. I have my journals with notes scratched in them for help, pushing me on the right path to make my story complete and hopefully one day it will be sitting on shelves in bookstores and homes alike.
What is my story about you ask? Well I shall give you a small synopsis about the story, hopefully not giving away too much but just enough to peak your interest.
Synopsis of Story
A High School sitting in Southern California teaches the usual classes; Math, English, P.E., and others, teaching the teenagers all that they need to know for when they move onto college. But there is one thing different about Demon High. Demon being the key word of what this high school is all about; demon hunters being trained and readied for their jobs in the future of saving mankind from the evil clutches of demons. But when things go wrong and demons attack, who will protect the school? Who will stop the attack and stop the demons dead in their tracks? The students must put aside their differences to ban together in order to help protect their beloved school and help protect the school’s faculty. But in order to do this another secret may have to be revealed, one that not even the faculty knew about except for three young students who will have to reveal this secret to help the school though they were keeping to so the students couldn’t use it for other purposes than what it was meant for. Demons beware! This school isn’t going to give up without a fight!
I hope this has interested you and I do hope that one day if it does peak interest in an agent then a publisher, you will pick up your own copy of Secrets at a Secret School.
