Angel Falls is one of Venezuela's top tourist attractions, but even today a trip to the falls is not a simple affair. The falls are located in an isolated jungle region of Venezuela, and a flight from Caracas or Ciudad Bolívar is required to reach Canaima camp, the starting point for river trips to the base of the falls.

Angel Falls

Angel Falls is the tallest waterfall in the world, as well as the tallest single drop in the world. The falls consist of a 2648 foot plunge, where the water comes out of the face of Auyan Tepui, then it cascades down steep talus before dropping over another 100 foot cascade. No one seems to know what the stream the falls occur on is called.

Local representative will assist you with your connecting flight back to Caracas.

Angel Falls, Canaima National Park, Venezuela

In 1933 American aviator James Crawford Angel was flying overhead, looking for an ore bed. What he found instead was the world’s biggest waterfall. He returned in 1936 to land his plane on top of the waterfall, and it remained there for another 33 years until it was finally removed.

Angel Falls is well tucked away, and difficult to get to. You’ll need to utilise planes, boats and good old footpower, but it’s still an astonishing sight. The 807m uninterrupted drop is astounding, although viewing it can be tough. Weather conditions often mean that Angel Falls cannot be seen from the air.

Canaima National Park is a very beautiful place on earth! You reach it by taking a plane from Ciudad Bolivar. After approx. 1 houd you land at Canaima Airport. A truck takes you to the boat. And after a 4,5 hour boat trip you reach camp. On the way, the most beautiful tepui's reveal themselves to you, the light is magnificent, the boat trip rough but pleasant. It's a complete joy! In the camp you sleep in a hangmat, which is also a great experience! And the walk to the foot of Salto Angel or Angel Falls is very cool: trough the jungle! The goal is very rewarding! Do take enough water with you because there's nothing for sale in camp and the jungle walk makes you transpire a lot.

World's another Biggest, Best Waterfalls : Niagara, Victoria Falls andThe Iguazu Waterfalls are a true wonder of nature.
