Anger Management Through Relieving Stress

Think back to the last time you really lost your cool. Maybe you yelled at your boss or your child? Maybe you threw something across the room? Maybe you even resorted to physical violence against another person? (don't worry, no one judging anyone here)

Not try to remember what was going on in your life at the time? Were you struggling with your bills? Arguing with your spouse? Trying to do too many things at one time? Chances are, the last time you lost control of your anger, you were also dealing with too much stress in your life.

In order to succeed at anger management, it is important to set up scheduled relaxation time in your day. There are many ways to relax and all of them have benefits to managing anger.

If you are an active person and enjoy exercising, consider yoga or stretching to help keep your tension from building up until you explode. If you are more like me and enjoy resting more than sweating, set aside time to read and/or listen to music everyday.

Taking a nice hot bath with some bubbles and aromatherapy candles can also help relieve the stress that is a main factor in uncontrollable anger.

Additionally, if you realize that you have a hard time keeping your cool when you are stressed out, avoid taking on too many projects at one time. Bite off only as much as you can chew.
