Squirrels, Rabbits, Opossums, Chipmunks, Groundhogs

Among the animal friends that live in our garden are squirrels of three varieties, chipmunks, cottontail rabbits, opossums, several pet cats and an occasional raccoon. In the winter, when the squirrel pictures were taken, we put out corn for the squirrels which, with their winter coats, makes them very fat. They also steal sunflower seeds from the bird feeder. Squirrels are very hard to keep out of the bird feeder. Other animals feed at the mulch pile where we dispose of our garbage. We don't use weed killers or pesticides.

That's good eatin'! Stop shooting pictures and start shooting varmints and you'll be a hell of a lot happier, pointdexter!

Really great photography as usual, Ralph. Had to chuckle at Phylis' comment! Really nice hub.

Belated thanks for the comments. I missed a lot until the new system came in yesterday. Now I'm catching up!

Yep, get out the shot gun and get rid of those critters. They are all good eating and if you can't eat them donate them to the FFA Wildlife Supper in you area. They can cook anything and make it taste great! Greeat pictures

I don't think our neighbors would like me to use a shotgun. I'd have to get a Benjamin Pump air rifle, if they are still available. However, I would never shoot our fuzzy little friends. When I was a kid I hunted squirrels with my Dad, and they were tasty, fried with gravy as I recall.
