Actress Anne Hathaway told "The Insider" that she has much to be thankful for and owes much to her friends during her most trying times.

Hathaway has been especially tried recently by her relationship with a man (Raffaello Follieri) who was arrested for his fradulent activities which preyed on people who believed he was operating his business under the auspices of the Vatican, when in fact he had no authority by the Church to do so.

"I have so much to be thankful for, even in difficult moments," Anne said during an interview during the debut of her film 'Rachel Getting Married' at the Film Festival in Toronto. She attributes part of her success to the family of self-assured women that she was fortunate enough to grow up in.

Interview with Entertainment Tonight (ET) Hathaway Reveals Her Next Role as Jenny Clare:

"I have always been a longtime fan of The Simpsons animated cartoon series. I watched it with my sisters and brothers as a little girl and it stuck with me through high school, college post college .. And everything always stops when it's on.


When I found out they wanted me to come and do a voice
I flipped out. It might be one of the most exciting things that's ever happened to me. So I'm very excited. I play Jenny Clary , who is an older woman, in the fifth grade, but she's a good girl.

Like most good girls she's a little bland, a little complicated, little judgmental and very desirous that she should be with a good boy. And of course she falls in love with Bart who is not necessarily that good a boy. And he tries to change himself in order to get her to stick around and their entire relationship is based on lies, and I won't tell you what happens but it was so much fun to try to think of what her voice would sound like in different situations.

Often times when you're doing something on strain that's just a part of the process you have to think about how the character would stand sit, eat is such aroused... but just to focus on doing voice work is not something I have done. I loved coming up with her voice when she is angry at her voice when she is just sweet herself... I love doing things like that.

This is actually my first time doing a voice over that wasn't animated before hand. So in the past I've had to match my voice to something that was already going on on the screen. So I have to say I really enjoyed.

I had so much fun! I woke up this morning and realized I was going to come to the Fox lot and do a voice for The Simpsons. It is such a dream come true, and it was obviously intimidating to walk into an environment where everybody else already knows everybody else. And there is a rhythm established, but everybody was so nice and worked with me and it really took off in took on a life of its own.

Widely received at the Toronto International Film Festival, “Rachel Getting Married” has “Mad Men’s” Rosemarie DeWitt in the main role, and a diverse Johnathan Demme cast which includes a three time-Oscar-nominated actress (Debra Winger), a music-idol (Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio), and a pro-clown (Bill Irwin). Director Demme, says he first saw Anne Hathaway at an awards ceremony about six or seven years ago and "... amidst this chaos of glamour and celebrity, my eye was taken by this incredibly vivacious young woman. There was something about her that was just wonderful to see. And I said to my companion, ‘Who’s that down there in that red dress?’ And they said, ‘Oh, that’s Anne Hathaway, the girl from “The Princess Diaries.”‘

Anne Hathaway seemed colossally proud of herself but also loath, initially, to make too big a deal of her experience shooting the family drama " Rachel Getting Married." The broadlystaged movie -- which keeps abreast of a New England family over the course of an emotionally shaped weekend of bridal revelry -- came out last month and has been engendering the earliest of early Oscar hum for Hathaway ever since.

From there Demme went on to cast Anne Hathaway in the part for 'Rachel Getting Married' and from there the rest is history.

Anne Hathaway has decided to join the cast of Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The trade reports: Hathaway is playing the White Queen, a kindly monarch who is deposed and banished by her sister, the Red Queen (Carter), who has an affinity for crying out, "Off with their heads!" The White Queen needs Alice to slay a creature known as the Bandersnatch.

This is a wonderful piece of cinematic news as Burton is a talented fantasy director and Anne Hathaway's participation in the project is sure to be elevating and exciting.

Anne Hathaway is already showing off her brand new man, Adam Shulman.

She brought the actor to the opening gala of the Palm Springs International Film Festival last night.

An E! reporter spotted them in a quick smooch when she got up to accept her award for "Rachel Getting Married." But Adam didn’t actually walk the red carpet with her. He waited in the wings.

Good.

He did get to sit at her table with her brother, Michael.

Getting into her character a little too deeply, Kate Hudson tells the press she accidentally socked her Bride Wars costar Anne Hathaway right in her face during the film's catfight scene.     "We were really tired, and I had this big rock on my finger. ... I whacked Annie in the face so hard," Hudson told Rachael Ray on the Rachael Ray show Thursday. "She was like: No, no, keep going because she was so into it. ... Two hours later...she's sitting in the back of a car with an ice pack on her face....I was so bad.... I really clocked her."

NEW YORK — Anne Hathaway is a fan of "Slumdog Millionaire" _ and the young star of the film, Dev Patel. A starstruck Hathaway expressed her love for the actor's performance in "Slumdog" on the red carpet at the National Board of Review Awards gala in Manhattan.

Meeting Patel for the first time, Hathaway declared: "I love you in your movie so much! ... You're so beautiful in it. You broke my heart. It was gorgeous."

Patel, pleasantly surprised by Hathaway's praise, asked her for a hug.

He said: "That means so much to me. You don't understand. ... Thank you Mrs. Hathaway!"

The 26-year-old actress and ex-girlfriend of Raffaello Follieri _ who's now serving a 4 1/2-year prison sentence for fraud _ corrected Patel, saying: "Mrs.? Oh no. Miss, miss!"

Patel, 18, was clearly worried he'd offended Hathaway, to which she playfully responded: "No, you're not offending me _ I'm just letting you know that it's 'Miss!'"

The "Slumdog" star, who portrays an orphan boy's rise to win India's version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," accepted his award Wednesday night for breakthrough performance by an actor. Hathaway was honored as best actress for her role in "Rachel Getting Married."

"Slumdog," set among the slums of Mumbai, topped Sunday's Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, winning four awards, including best drama and best director for Danny Boyle.
