Another Gospel?

Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. This is very straightforward. Anyone or being who preaches any gospel beside the gospel of Christ will be accursed.

The word accursed; (ACCURS'ED, pp. or a. 1. Doomed to destruction or misery: The city shall be accursed. John 6. 2. Separated from the faithful; cast out of the church; excommunicated. I could wish myself accursed from Christ. 3. Worthy of the curse; detestable; execrable. Keep from the accursed thing. Josh 6. Hence, 4. Wicked; malignant in the extreme.) Who would want to be accursed? I would say no one wants to be accursed, but yet it seems so many preach a different gospel.

Paul thought this to be a very important instruction for the church. He even stated it again in the very next verse. Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Many might say that Paul had no idea what he was talking about. Then others might say that the Bible has been changed so much that it can't be true. Yet others will say that the Bible is a book of fairy tales and means nothing at all.

There are many who claim to know Christ, but yet they don't show that they really know Him. Many different messages are preached every day by different people. Some preach that all beliefs are the same. They say that each culture has it's own word or name for God. I could believe this except for one thing. Other cultures have a different personality in their god.

It is possible that many say these things because they want other men and women to accept them and what they teach or preach. What they preach mostly is that God's way isn't good enough for them. They must make their own way to God, thereby sealing up their own fate. When a person thinks himself or herself higher than God or their way better than God's way, they are equal to Satan. Satan wanted to put his throne above the throne of God. We all know what happened don't we. Iniquity was found in Satan and was the cause for sin to enter in.

Whre Does the Gospel Come From?

Gal 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Gal 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

The Gospel of Christ was revealed not by man, but by the Holy Ghost. Until the Gospel is revealed to a person, it cannot be preached or taught by the person. I had to have a revelation myself before I could understand anything about Jesus. It is this way for everyone. Many received the revelation of Christ, but have moved on to different gospels. I am sure there are many reasons for this to happen, but in the end, God knows more about it than I do. Those who have moved to preach different gospels will be accursed.

Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

We can see that the gospel of Christ came through Christ and not by man. If we search back in the scriptures we can find that this same gospel was preached in the Old Testament. Abraham heard the gospel of Christ. (Gen 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. Gal 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. )

The gospel also brings about good tidings and great joy for all people. (Luk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. ) There are many other examples of the gospel being revealed. I don't believe there is a need to show all of them. I believe everyone can understand from what I have shown here.

So why is it that so many different gospels are being preached? Why is it so hard for so many to see that Jesus died for their sins and wants them to repent? Why is it that so many would seemingly rather believe what they created in their own heart than what God commanded? (2Co 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. ) The lost are blind to this gospel. They will remain blind until their eyes are opened. The god of this world is the one who has them blinded. Satan is the god of this world. He is called the prince of the powers of the air also.

New Again

What is the Gospel of Christ?

So what exactly is the gospel of Christ? It is very simple really. Men make it complicated usually because they can't believe how simple it really is. The gospel is found in the Word of God. (Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ) Think about what is revealed here. God loved the whole world. He loved it so much that He gave us His Son. Whosoever believes in the Son should not perish. The lost will perish. God said they would and He never lies.

One thing many seem to miss in this verse. Whosoever believes in Him. All are forgiven, but we must believe in Him, then we can have everlasting life. ( Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. ) Jesus didn't come to condemn. He came to save. We can know from the Word that condemnation has already come to the world.

Jesus is the way out of condemnation. He is the only way. I know many won't believe this, but it is true whether they believe it or not. (Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ) Those who believe are not condemned, but those who believe not are condemned still. The only way for condemnation to be removed is to believe in Jesus Christ wholly and completely.

I wrote a song recently and I think it is good to put here on this hub also. I believe everyone deserves an opportunity to come to Jesus. It is for this cause that He gave His life for you.

Won't You Come by Michelle Tuesday

Won't You Come

The lyrics were written by me, but my good friend Michelle in Ohio wrote the music and worked out the melody for the song. I thank God for her and her talent. She plays a strong rhythm guitar and also plays piano. She is also a creative writer. I hope you visit her blog and give her a shout out.

He can take the filthy garment and give you a robe of white

He can take away all your sins and give you a brand new life

He can set you on a solid rock where you'll be able to stand

His grace is enough to renew each and every man

Won't you come, won't you come

Give the burdens of your life to Him won't you come

Won't you come, won't you come

No one loves you like he does, won't you come.

He can take away your hard heart and give you a heart of flesh

No more your soul to wander in Jesus you'll find rest

He can take away all your fears and give you peace so sweet

Just come and bow before the Lord humbly at His feet

Won't you come, won't you come

Give the burdens of your life to Him won't you come

Won't you come, won't you come

No one loves you like he does, won't you come.

This is very good stuff. Many times those within the "Body" go off on a tagent as well when they are preaching and this too is a form of preaching another Gospel. As you said there is only one Gospel and that is the "Good News" that Jesus Christ came to save us from our sinss and that we must believe that to have eternal life. thank you for sharing this with me.

Great hub, only I know of a Jew who has the original conents thate are in the Bible and some things have been added. I am trying to get him here to post those.

Also Jesus said the Kingdom Of God is WITHIN you. Sirdent, How do you know that YOU are the ONLY one who is the most high in deleivering God's message?

Here is where it states that the Kingdom is Wtitin you. The whole chapter is here but the main verse is 21....

Luke 17

1Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

2It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

3Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

4And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

5And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

6And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

7But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?

8And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?

9Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

10So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

11And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:

13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

16And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

17And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

18There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

19And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

20And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

21Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

22And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.

23And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.

24For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.

25But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.

26And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

27They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

28Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

31In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

32Remember Lot's wife.

33Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

34I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

35Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

36Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

37And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

SirDent, wonderful hub! Reading this just proves God has His hand on you!! I am always humbled by reading your hubs, especially the ones dealing with God and His Word. Today, there are so many 'false-gospels' out there, it's so heart warming to see you spreading God's true Word. It reminds me of the Ray Boltz song "Thank you for giving to the Lord". I know there will be many in Heaven because of your work here on earth. I know in my heart that when you get there, there will be many people you don't even know down here who will come up to you and thank you for planting seeds and that through those seeds you are planting now, that they are in Heaven. So many today want to take an easy road and think that a loving God would never allow a person to go to hell, or that there is no hell, or that you don't need Jesus to get to Heaven. People, which I guess this is human nature, want to think of the Bible as only love this and love that but don't want to hear the rest of what It has to say about not accepting Christ and the consequences of that because then you can live however you want to and still get to Heaven. Or think that because one chooses not to believe in God, that they wont have to face Him or His judement. You have laid out the truth lovingly to where any person who reads it understands. You have done a wonderful job. I love your song! Thank you for allowing God to use you!

LG, do you have any idea who Jesus is talking to in that chapter? I have read many statements made by you claiming to know Jesus and how you preach His message, then I see you preaching other gospels.

Does your Jewish friend have the origianl scrolls? Does he also have the New Testament and does he believe in Jesus Christ?

The Word procalims, it is appointed once for man to die. Not many times as reincarnation states. After death is the judgment.

Youmust think Iam a fool and not know what I am talking about. Of course I know who he was talking too--If that were the case with all scripture then it would be for almost the whole of the bible and non of it would pertain to anyone but the apostles and disciples. I KNOW what he means by reading it myself and not having someone tell me what they think it means.

Stating that just because someone states that Jesus is the Savior does NOT in anyway indicate that they are telling the truth.  this is the problem with people who go around making false statements like that.  Christ did not intend for everyone who hears His words or reads His words to understand and be saved.  HE PURPOSELY spoke in parable so that people would NOT understand.  Your hub is titled appropriately because you do the very thing you claim is accursed.

God never intended for everyone to understand His Word or His Plan except for the few that He calls in every generation. He is not even trying to save the whole world in this lifetime or even in this age. The prophet Habakkuk tells us this,

"For the earth shall be FILLLED with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea" (Hab. 2:14).

Oh it "shall" shall it? WHY NOT NOW? Wouldn’t it be better NOW if the earth were FILLLED with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord? Why later? Because it is God’s way. Let me quote Hab. 2:3 from the Revised Standard Version:

"For there is still a vision for the APPOINTED TIME; it speaks of THE END, and does not lie., If it seems to tarry, wait for it, it will surely come, IT WILL NOT DELAY."

God’s ways take time and He does everything according to His schedule, trust me, EVERYTHING IS RIGHT ON SCHEDULE.

Why God hasn’t even called whole categories of people during the past two thousand years:

"For you see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, ARE CALLED" (I Cor. 1:26).

And of those called, only a "few are chosen." And those few are admonished to search, and hunt, and dig for the truth. None of this is an accident nor is it God’s plan gone amuck. God’s plan is on schedule to the millionth of a millisecond. God knows how many hairs were lost on your head today because He had already planned how many you would lose, a long time ago.

God is considerably smarter and more powerful than most people could ever conceive (including myself). Who but God would have designed and created the Hebrew and Greek languages. (People the world over are still saying, "It’s GREEK to me")! God caused these languages to die out. Later God revived these two ‘dead languages’ in Italy, France, and England during the period of time God preordained to be called the Renaissance. Before this, no one spoke Hebrew or Greek in Europe, and very few scholars understood these languages. God planned that this alone would be a major barrier to understanding His Word. And when God finally put it within the hearts of men to translate His word out of the Greek, it was found to be jam packed with metaphors, parables, figurative language, and ancient idioms, difficult to translate.

By the way, the idea of an "inerrant" or flawless translation is not even possible. It just isn’t possible to translate one language into another language PERFECTLY. It cannot humanly be done! There are many words, idioms, and colloquial sayings in many languages that simply HAVE NO EXACT EQUIVALENT in other languages. But that’s okay. It is possible to understand God’s Word even with these difficulties, differences, and imperfect translations. That is because the real understanding is in the SPIRIT and not in the LETTER. Certainly God uses both, but the emphasis is on the former and not the latter.

The strange languages we find on earth today are the inventions of God Himself. Yes, they are. God confounded the languages of mankind at the Tower of Babel. He really did a number on the Chinese, didn’t He?

God knows that understanding His Word is not a casual task that can be accomplished without great effort. Paul told Timothy to STUDY, rather than just casually read the Scriptures. Even with the aid of God Spirit, we must study, God does not miraculously cause His saints to memorize and understand all Scripture.

You keep claiming this person or that person will go to heaven and that person to hell. Incorrect. ONLY Christ's Elect will be in heaven with Christ ruling. The 2 million plus christians will NOT rule with Christ and you can try and twist scripture to force fit your desire but it simply will not work. God's word supersedes mankind's desires and mankind's foolish fabled of people living in heaven or hell.

You may not like hearing it but it's obviously true based on the content of your hubs and those you offhandedly throw your praise to.  God is watching and He knows the truth about the life you are leading and the illusion you use the internet for to make yourself appear christian.  If I were you, I'd worry more about that beam in your own eye before you attempt to minister anything to anyone.

you twisted a previous statement of mine and claimed how horrible I was to wish persecution on anyone. READ YOUR BIBLE. We are to REJOICE IN PERSECUTIONS. REJOICE in them. When you know what your talking about, maybe then you will be able to discuss scripture honestly, until then you need to ask God to help you relinquish your own carnal will and beg Him to show you HIS will. That's the problem with self professed christians, they think they can do as they please without answering to God or following His word. The Scriptures are not a "choose your own adventure" book as most try to argue.

Post this or don't post it, it's no consequence to me.  God is all that matters and it's His will not yours that decides the day and it's events... not your own.
