I mentioned in another hub page that patios can offer something unique and very powerful in a home - the chance for a quality experience outdoors, Obviously, this would include pretty much everything under the sun, so to speak (and also ways to get out from under the sun while still there). The issue is our quality of life.

Naturally, we like arranging the interiors of our homes as truly representative of ourselves and as appealing to others as we can. The same can be said of the exterior as well and thus we have the concept of landscaping and of, in this instance, patios. A good patio can enhance life in remarkable and uplifting ways.We can cook there, sit and read, or sit and just vegetate after a hard week at work - all that is in our power. What we want is a place to do it which is away from the rush and one which acts to enable this in the subtle influential ways which a gorgeous envirnoment can offer..

I design and install patios with this in mind. Many folks approach a patio reluctantly. To some it seems to be some sort of necessary evil because it has a budgetary dimension. Sure, this is true - they are not free. But their value is in the joy and the refreshing ability to host and to enjoy people and ourselves in unique and soulful ways.

Let us take a minute and visit some patios I have designed and fit ourselves inside them. What you will find is that I believe surrounding an interesting surface with gorgeousness in planting and landscaping works the wonders I look for. As well, the placement of plants for color and for scent, especially for patios, matters as much as anything. A great smelling place, redolent with Lavender, a mint of some kind, or some fragrant sage or many of the other available plantings can make the experience take off from the first step outdoors.
