I was on vacation in Key West when Andrew came along, after driving 30 hours to get there on Saturday-Sunday morning we were evacuated! The trip to Vero Beach, where we had relatives to stay with, normally a 5 hour drive, took about 15 hours! After Andrew was past, on our return drive we passed thru Homestead, or what USED to be Homestead! I have never seen such devastation! It was scary! I'm glad you were able to relocate!

This put a big smile on my face as I read it. Great testimony and well written. It is good to read about some of the good things that happen to God's people. I agree with Arkwriter that we need to stick together.

I read in your profile that you are a drummer. I am a bass player myself and I have written a few songs.

Thank you so much for your comments and kind words Arkwriter, Briards and SirDent. I am glad I put a big smile on your face SirDent. You did the same for me when I read your comment. Yes, Arkwriter is correct, we need to stick together. Thank you Briards for sharing your Hurricane experience as well. And Arkwriter, it is great that we both practice (Phil. 4:6-7). It was great reading your hub pages with the same Scripture. God bless all of you.

What a nice true story about miracles happening every day in our life, if we allow them to happen and not to omit them with our low faith or non-activity, when we feel it is appropriate to act. Thank you for sharing!

Talk about God's Amazing Timing

After Hurricane Wilma and living in a Mobile Home Community, I decided to sell my home. The years prior to Hurricane Wilma were totally different. You hardly heard of major Hurricanes in Florida for many years. Then Hurricane Andrew hit and Miami was devastated. Now over 10 years later, Hurricane's started to pop-up all over Florida. I had to evacuate whenever there was a Hurricane Warning. It really became tiring when we had 3 evacuations in one year. Then came Wilma. The straw that broke the camels back. Wow!!! She made our Mobile Home Community look like a bomb had hit it. Mobile homes that were older than 10 years old were blown away. Our peaceful community looked like a war zone. And the tears began to flow the second we entered back into our community right after Wilma was gone. It took almost 2 years to replace most of the lost homes with new mobile homes. These new mobiles are even stronger than the ones that were made in the previous years. Of course, the media with their words of wisdom, said Florida would have major hurricanes the next 10 years. That's enough scare to put the Mobile Home Communities in the entire state out of business. Needless to say, and by the grace of God, that has not happened. Because of Hurricane Wilma, our homeowners insurance went up tremendously. And many companies dropped their Mobile Home insurance on the older mobile home models. It was then that I decided to put mine up for sale. Now here is where God's Amazing timing came in. There were over 30 mobile homes for sale at the same time. In fact, they had brand new ones coming in like crazy. They were totally gorgeous and made a lot stronger to withhold more wind. My home was almost 5 years old. Some of my neighbors who had homes that were only 2 and 3 years old were also selling their homes. We all had our homes listed for about the same amount of money.. Potential buyers came and went. There were so many to choose from that I knew it would be even harder to sell them. I needed to leave my home to relocate out of state and my moving date was scheduled for the first week in August. My neighbors advised that I would never sell my house that fast because they had theirs listed months before mine was listed and Hurricane season would soon begin again. That is when I put my prayers into a specific date. Since I wrote in my Joyce Meyer devotional book each day, I started to write: Lord, please sell my home by July 31st, as I need to move the first week in August. When I prayed that, I didn't mean to sell it on that specific day, but that God would sell it for me the latest by July 31st. Since I put my for sale sign out that May, I figured I would sell it within the next two months. [Not knowing so many others would be selling theirs as well]. I decided to list it with Buy-owner. All I did was waste more money doing that. Then a neighbor told me to list it on Craigslist as that was Free. I decided to list it on Craigslist since no one called me from my Buy-owner listing and weeks had already passed by. After listing it with Craigslist in June, I still did not receive any response. When I was talking with my neighbors, they also advised they were not getting many calls or prospective buyers. They said we would probably have to wait until the Hurricane season from May 31 - Nov 30 ended in order to sell. That would mean that I would have to pay my $520 lot rent each month and also renew my homeowners insurance that was expiring on August 31st. And the insurance premium was going to go up due to Hurricane Wilma. Now here it comes...... I am still praying and waiting for God's help. Then one Saturday night, I woke up at about 4:30 in the morning [which would be Sunday morning]. My eyes just popped open and I could not sleep at all. I tried to go back to sleep and I began praying asking God to help me fall back to sleep. I kept hearing: check your emails. I sat up and said, in prayer, why would I want to check my emails at 4:30 in the morning? And again I heard, check your emails. I got up and began to read my emails and I noticed an email from my friend Doreen. She wrote in large font and in bright pink: List your home on Craigslist, it's Free!!! Well, I smiled and said to myself: My home is already on Craigslist since June and no one has called and I then decided to go back into Craigslist and list my home in Canada and Fort Lauderdale this time. After downloading my photo's and information again, I began to get sleepy as I was on my computer until about 7:30 AM. I decided to try to get some sleep. I fell back to sleep and my Godchild woke me up at 9:30 AM to watch Joel Osteen on TV. Joel's message began with "There are some of you out there who are saying, I'll never get out of debt, or I'll never get married, or I'll never sell my home. Well, you will get out of debt, you will sell your home, God is preparing someone for you to marry .... and the sermon went on something like that. Wow..... I smiled :)))) As soon as Joel's message was over, I decided to make breakfast and turn on my cell phone. There was a voice message on my phone from a man named Steve who advised he saw my home on Craigslist and he was interested. His message time was 8:20 AM, almost an hour later since I listed it. That was on July 29th. And yes, he came to my home that day, really liked it and told me he would call me back. He went to the main office to put in a contract for approval the next day .... and yes.... on July 31st.... he gave me a check for the sale of my home. To the exact date that I wrote in my devotional book. And the best part is, I found out my original Craigslist ad that I posted in June, had expired the day before my friend Doreen sent me the email to list my home with Craigslist. God's timing is not like our timing. He is not anxious about anything. He tells us Not to be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition present your requests to God. Remember, when you pray to God, be specific in your prayers. Sometimes God will make you wait till the very last minute to give you your answer. But He will always come through. Our God is an Awesome God.
