Answering the Basic Interview Question
52Basic Interview Question
The first question the interviewer will ask you: "Introduce yourself" or "Tell me something about yourself."
This maybe one of the simplest question you be asked to answer, but it doesn't mean the answer is (are) simple too. Though this is just a basic interview question, what the you think is the purpose of the interviewer why he or she wants to know something about you, and are those things the interveiwer wants to know about you.
Though you are very much familiar with the answer, not all of your experiences including your work experiences should be mentioned here. This is why you should take not that while narrating your past experieinces, the interviewer is scanning your CV. Those things which are indicated in your CV should mentioned.
The proper way of introducing your self is by way of telling who and what you are and you should start it by saying, "I am." State your name first, your present address, how old you are and the college or university you graduated. You should not mention the name of your parents because you will be sounding very elementary in this case.
Mentione some of your heroic experience if you have one, or an unforgetable experience where you had receive a merit. You may want also to mention by giving emphasis that base on yur experiences and earned knowledge, you are qaulified and fit for the job, that is why you applied for the position.
The last sentence may sound overwhelming, but telling something about yourself is the time for you to market yourself so as to be given the chance to be bought or hired if the interviewer will be impressed.
To picture the scenario that you are being ask with this question and to exactly give the answers the interviewer wants to know, there's only one thing you should know. I would strongly recommend that rehearse on this part. Stand in from of the mirror and try to say something about yourslef. "Practice makes perfect". make also a record on how many minutes you should be talking. Do not make it too long because the interviewer will cut it off.
Again, if you want to impress the interviewer on your firt encounter, try practicing this part because you will surely be aksed to say something about yourself. This not only a basic interview question, but a tough question to be answered correctly.
