Antique Cars
Owners of antique cars are usually very proud of their possession; just like everyday cars though, they require insurance. Antique car insurance is not that difficult to find with many companies now able to provide this specialist service. The classic car customer is in a fortunate position with so many specialist insurance providers as they are more likely to get the right policy at a competitive price.
This area has not gone unnoticed by commercial auto insurers and they now have special policies for collectors of antique cars that reflect these specialized areas of auto cover. Although the policies may seem the same as regular auto cover provides, they are not and the agent will require exact details of the car to be insured before a full quotation can be supplied. Your level of cover will depend on how much you can afford but it is possible to lower this by arranging for your deductible to be raised above the minimum set by the insurer.
These commercial insurers are able to provide you peace of mind as they are usually well established and therefore safe, probably with a large satisfied customer base so you know your antique car will be safe with them. Another benefit of using these large companies is they can provide cover for the owner's everyday cars as well. Often, the cost of an antique car insurance policy is higher with this type of company but many owners feel the extra cost is worth it as they fell much safer knowing the company is well known and has a long history.

It is possible to use specialist auto insurers and often the premium is lower because this is the only type of insurance they provide, this might mean that you will not be able to insure any other type of car with them. A number of independent insurance providers even specialize to the point where only a certain type of classic car is insured.
If you are going to use and independent antique car insurer then first check that they can be trusted and have a loyal customer base before you part with any money. The fear for people using a small independent car insurer is when they may need them to pay out for a claim and get a rejection or find they are filing for bankruptcy.
You will often find it a tedious process locating an antique car insurance provider but you will have to persevere if you want to have you car protected by an insurance policy. Many classic cars are considered as works of art that will never be repeated and cannot be replaced, but they are also a considerable financial investment on the part of the owners so must be insured.

Hey catala,
No the car is not mine I spotted it in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England I changed the number-plate because I didn't have permission for the photograph and wanted to provide some confidentiality for the owner.
Classic cars do run in the family though and I have bought a couple, a MK 2 Ford Cortina for £40 and a Ford Anglia for £30 my farther drove the E-type Anglia for five years until it needed too much work on it to keep it legal.
I have been looking for a picture of a Ford Capri of your description, do you have any photos for making a picture out of I draw cars?
I seen a Capri once in a custom show with six wheels four at the back I think and Rolls Royce Spitfire engine in it what a crazy car.
My dads brother has a Leigh Frances, a Lanchester and a Cadillac, real older classic cars with running boards and that on the first two.
Thanks for another inspiring comment, Gareth.

classic cars were a laugh when you could pick them up for peanuts in exchange & mart and loot, but as with most things its hard to mess about with them now as bangers appear to not exist anymore only collectors cars moan moan moan
