Deciding on Antique Putters Worth: Educating Yourself and Avoid Being Fooled

Putters are the clubs that mainly decide the game. Although not highly celebrated in gold tourneys, putters continue to be prized especially when setting back to relax, and putting the ball into the hole.

Antique putters are being sold all over the internet, but there are important factors that you have to consider if you want to buy their wares. Is the seller reputable? What is the condition of the antique putters you’re going to buy? If the putter has some marks or damage, that brings the worth one notch down, and you’ll have to know if you’re getting your money’s worth.

Another important factor when buying antique putters is the proof of their age. After all, if you’re going to acquire the best, then you’ll need evidence. Having the original receipt and the putter still in original packaging can be helpful; barring that, there are usually documents that come with the putters so you’ll know if they’re authentic. The materials of the putter are also important factor. Putters from 19th century and onwards usually have specific dates of their manufacture, and they are sometimes mostly made of wood although brass was also slowly becoming famous during that era. Their worth can go up to $200. Beech antique putters can even go as high as $1500, and rarely-manufactured putters with famous designers can fetch as high as $20,000.

You’ll have to decide how old an antique putter really is, but many would consider putters from 1960’s and before are the ones that are worth collecting. This makes their value higher than the ones that come after. Keep your eye out for those years, and you’ll find yourself getting a handful of antique putters for your collection in no time.
