Anxiety Cures That Work
56Finding Anxiety Cures
Everyone wants to find anxiety cures that work. There are a number of factors that come into play when looking at an anxiety "cure" and I'd like to talk about the things that make these cures effective.
The first thing to look at is the term anxiety cures itself. The fact of the matter is that even the best techniques, supplements and medications do not "cure" your anxiety. Your anxiety disorder is a part of you -- it is rooted in your brain's chemistry and can not really be cured the way polio has been cured. However, the effects of the anxiety disorder, meaning the anxiety symptoms, can be relieved in many cases. You can escape from your symptoms by taking the proper action. But, it is a bit of a misnomer to say that you have "cured" yourself from anxiety.
That said, the anxiety cures that work function in two manners. The first way that they work is to diminish your symptoms by minimizing chemical activity in the brain. As a result certain supplements and medications can make you feel more relaxed, less wound up, and less anxious. The thing to remember is that you do not need supplements or medications to achieve this effect. For instance, if you do not sleep on a particular night you will not experience hardly any anxiety symptoms the following day. The reason for this is that your body will be depleted of its available stores of energy and will not send your brain the signals that it needs to release anxiety-causing chemicals into the blood. Of course, we need sleep and no one will recommend that you should try to limit your sleep as a manner of reducing anxiety. I mention it only to point out that anxiety treatments work in a similar manner. They instruct the brain to enter a "mellow" state by inhibiting the release of certain bio-chemicals that cause anxiety symptoms.
Let's look at anxiety cures to get a better understanding of the matter. Most herbal supplements that are recommended for anxiety, such as seredyn, are pretty effective in neutralizing your anxiety symptoms. Seredyn for instance has been shown to especially useful in minimizing anxiety episodes and social anxiety. But seredyn is not the only show in town.
There are countless anxiety supplements on the market today. Many of them are highly effective in minimizing anxiety symptoms. Although, as I have already mentioned, they don't truly cure your anxiety. The important thing is to read the research. On most of the websites that promote such anxiety supplements you can read data from studies as well as testimonials that indicate whether the product is effective and to what degree it is effective. Therefore it becomes important to educate yourself. Do not buy the first product that you see that claims to be effective in treating anxiety. In order to find an anxiety supplement that works, you need to be willing to look around, read the data, examine the claims, etc. This sounds like a lot of work but believe me, it is well worth it when you find an anxiety product that works like a charm.
The other element of an anxiety cure is medication. A psychiatrist or doctor will be able to prescribe various medications which work to reduce anxiety symptoms. The problem with these medications is that they can usually not be taken everyday. Instead they are recommended for treating acute anxiety as it develops. For instance, if you begin to have a panic attack you can take a Xanax to minimize the symptoms. It is not wise to take a Xanax everyday to keep your symptoms away.
And that is the problem with medical anxiety cures. They don't address the cause, they can only be used to treat the symptoms. If you did take a benzodiazepine everyday to keep your symptoms at bay, you would find that your symptoms begin to become resistant to the medication due to the effects of tolerance. Additionally, such medications are highly addictive. They are so addictive in fact, that if you begin to take a benzodiazepine every day you will not be able to safely stop taking them. The situation that follows would result in a hospitalization or a trip to a detox facility because stopping benzo's is extremely dangerous and it leads to a syndrome that could result in your death.
For this reason, it is clear that anxiety medications are not the answer for curing an anxiety condition. As I mentioned before, there are a number of herbal preparations that are highly effective. I mentioned Seredyn as I have first hand experience with that and I know that it can be effective.
But there are other options out there to treat anxiety naturally besides Seredyn. The key is that you need to research each formula and examine the claims.
And for those who insist on taking medication, I do not begrudge you. However, as a former patient of a psychiatrist on whose advice I found myself in a medical detox facility I am somewhat suspicious about that industry's claims to cure anxiety through prescription medication. I find that natural preparations are much safer and more effective method to use.
So, do your homework, well aware of the fact that there are anxiety cures that work, if you are willing to uncover them.

Great ideas to reduce worry! I practice slow breathing exercises myself.
