Anything and Everything Dubstep
66Ghost in the Machine
"Forgiven" is like a ghost's soul caught in a traveling locomotive, who's song is filtered through the engine's steam. This is the definitive new London-street sound that permeates the thick night air. As a Burial track, all that is missing is the signature clickety-clack of the train-rails. Is this Dubstep; is their a step to this dub? Maybe not, but it's more than worth a listen; your ears will thank you for it later.
Burial- Forgiven
Where does Dubstep go from here?
Ok, so Dubstep, the U.K. genre known for it's whompy, get-your-ass-on-the-floor, vibrating basslines and its shuffled half-time rhythms, is beginning to get old, some say. I beg to differ. Artists like DJ Joker, Burial, and Starkey are allowing the genre to transcend other genres such as House, creating an overlapping of sound waves and making room for new fans. Still skeptical? Check out Emalkay's newest tune "When I look at You" from Dub Police Records. The song was featured on none other than Caspa's essential mixes. Sounds legit' to me.

Assault my Eardrums? Yes, please.
Now its time for something heavy and booming like Emalkay's "Explicit". As I played this tune in my dorm room with my subwoofer, it began to thunder, but even mother nature couldn't outdo this tune's bass! The song starts with provocative vocal samples "I Beat Mother Fuckers"....ahhh the abrasiveness of Dubstep!
Emalkay- Explicit
Impacting Physicality of Dubstep
Bassline drops
A booming echo
Sub vibrates
Writhing in sound-induced trance
Shaking my bones
Moving my body
Hips Pivoting
Swaying
Rattles my sternum
Anticipation
Heavy and deep
Cavernous sounds
Earthquake for my eardrums
Grimey and wobbly
Beats a' rockin
Down low to the floor
Drenched in sweat
Dank
The air is thick
Chaotic sound waves
Noises ricochet off walls
Boom, boom, boom
Smoother than a Bloodclot
This is not the usual Dubstep noise, though there is the clack of a steady drum-kick. The tune floats along instead of sinking immediately to the grime-filled ground. This is a departure from the havoc-wrecking, warped bassline of 'bloodline'. 'Mako' is an edgy and refreshing tune, indeed.
