Appendicitis Its Symptoms and Treatments

Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix. It can be due to an obstruction of the appendix by such as foreign body or masses of undigested food, so that the appendix cannot drain into a large intestine. In many instances.

The appendix is a thin tube like sac filled with lymphatic tissue (tissue that absorbs toxins). It is located at the base of the colon on the right side below the stomach. Although its exact function in the body is not known for sure, it is believed to serve to remove toxic material from the intestine.

Symptoms of Appendicitis :

• Sudden, intermittent pain in any part of the abdomen, often accompanied by vomiting.
• Later, there can be pain in the lower right side of the abdomen, where the appendix is located.
• Body temperature maybe slightly higher than normal.
• Sometimes the attack subsides without treatment but will come back.
• Nausea
• Constipation
• In some cases the appendix and abscess forms.

Treatment for abscessed appendix may consist of drainage followed by appendectomy(surgical removal of appendix).

How To Identify Appendicitis : Lay the person down on the bed, pressing on the abdomen with 2 fingers from the right side and up from the groin until pain is felt. Then quickly remove the fingers. If there is a sharp pain when you remove your fingers (rebound tenderness), it is likely that the person has appendicitis or peritonitis. If there is no pain, repeat the examination on the left side (in some cases the intestine has moved).

Suggested Treatment for Appendicitis :

1. If the symptoms are those of appendicitis or peritonitis, get medical help immediately. It is likely that an operation is necessary to remove the appendix.
2. Eat and drink sparingly.
3. Take natural antibiotics like ;

• Propolis this can slow the infection. Taking propolis is important because the appendix can burst, the propolis will drain the infection into the intestinal tissue which should slow the infection.
• Garlic is another potent natural antibiotic
• Echinacea can be added to combat or prevent any infection.
• A laxative to should never be given to a person suffering from abdominal pain.
