First you need to jailbrake your ipod touch or iphone then add the application to your installer repository then click ok and you should have your application installed.
I use flytunes (www.flytunes.fm) that lets you listen to/cache internet radio on your ipod touch (or iphone). It's a pretty sweet little app ...it's free! (and you don't have to jailbreak your phone)
Looks like Apple is releasing the SDK the first of March, so it shouldn't be long til we see some apps we can run without jailbreaking. It will be good to see how they compare to the ones currently available.

@bella: I don't think so, you need to jailbreak in order to run any unsigned Apple applications. You can wait until the summer when the App store is released and then im sure there will be a signed version of the Lyrics app.

With the new app store its really easy to get apps on your ipod touch or iphone. First install itunes, then register yourself and an itunes app store id (search on google for the location if you get stuck), it takes around 24 hours or so for the id to become active I found. With your ipod try and connect to the app store, it will ask for a username and password. give it the one you registered with, then browse for apps and download.

Click on your ipod in itunes, its usually on the summary tab, then click on the applications tab. (Im talking about the horizontal tabs not the vertical ones on the left) Click sync applications. Then go to sync ipod and apply the changes.

Ok so I see that there are plent of questions asking why can't you put the ipod touch apps on your ipod that you bought or dowloaded for free. So here is the answer. You have to upgrade to the software 2.0 or greater. At this point all I see is the update to 2.2 but it only like $9.95. If there are any suggestions as to how to get the 2.0 download and it cost less or free please go ahead. I will go ahead and say I would not like to jailbreak my ipod again because of doing so caused it to crash last time.

@sammy probably best to reset the ipod touch to its factory default settings. If theres already some cool music on the ipod that you want then use something like copypod to get them off then do a reset.

Hello, i'm having problems on getting apps onto my iPod Touch. I have been trying to get them onto my iPod via the app store on my iPod Touch. I get as far as trying to download the Free apps, but then a message comes up.
It says "Authorization failed. Please connect to iTunes."
I have tryed many times, but it is not letting me! I have an apple account, but i only want the free apps, so i don't want to give them all my credit card details (seeing as i'm only 14 and don't have any anyway!)

you have to sign on then you can download apps
@Tazmin I got stuck on this for a while as well at first. Just link up your iPod to your PC/Mac then load iTunes and try and download some apps via the App store through iTunes. It will ask for your username /password etc. Put that in then you'll find that when you're disconnected from your PC/Mac but still have a net connection you can download the free apps straight from your iPod.

no need for a credit card to download the apps. there is an "itunes application" right on the ipod (comes installed) and you can purchase them from there. There are a lot of free ons, so especially no need for a credit card!

You should try charging your ipod if it does not have enough power it cannot run properly,If that doesnt work you can always go to the nearest apple store or call them because thats what i did.

Ok. Just receveived 2g ipod touch (a first time apple buyer). i've downloaded a couple of apps for the store, however, I cannot copy apps to the touch. I was able to copy all my music to it but not the apps. Never had this kind of trouble with my psp. Could someone please give advice (without the smart ass comments) on how to do this
Nevermind. I found the answer I was looking for from yahoo forum. Open up itunes. click on Ipod (the one with the battery indicator next to it. Then click on applications tab (the horizontal bar.
