Let me stress at the beginning that I am not a Mac fanatic. I work with computers and find it much less annoying than I have now 10 and 20 years old. I heard an iMac for four years and find it beautiful, but not perfect. Macs and PCs converge when it comes to reliability, and user-friendliness, but Apple products are much more elegant than in most other computer products, and the Mac OS is still cleaner and more stable than Microsoft's product. I doubt if the premium price makes Macs worth it for everyone, and in some ways, Apple Computer as luxury cars that are not either for the stellar performance, or to make things easy for the home mechanic to do it, but take it easy and How comfortably possible for people who have not much value on their own spark plugs. They are not for everyone, but they are definitely for those of us who want things easy and want our toys to have style.

I like my new MacBook very, very much. It is thin, light, clean and oh, so easy to use. The screen is brilliant, the keyboard feels nice (and I love the illuminated keys back). Without subscribe to a service or dealing with all settings, I turned it on and had immediate access to the wireless Internet. I is my camera into it and immediately downloaded images - no mess, no software to install. The included software that is loaded and processed images, music and video is all very well integrated and easy to use and more than adequate for the casual user. I am a little more than a casual user of photo software Photoshop and installed, but for most of my images, I will probably stick with iphoto. I popped in the disc for my four-year-old version of Office for the Mac and in a few minutes had smoothly functioning word-processing and spreadsheet software, the files I have on my office PC. Easy, easy, easy.

(This does lead me to note is that a negative is not minor: Apple computers used to dealing with a decent word processing and spreadsheet package AppleWorks. This is no longer included. If you want to word processing, you have to buy another software To do so. The absence of Apple Works is regrettable.)

I have this computer for my wife (yes, I called it myself - they must pry from my hands), and opted for the MacBook Pro on the regular MacBook. It plans to them on their sabbatical this year to slow the various libraries and archives, and wrote a book. I tried, my brother is MacBook and liked it very much, but I think it's chicklet MacBook keyboard would be annoying and uncomfortable, if I have too long or give them fast. If the computers were not determined, at long meetings keyboard away from home, I was happy with the MacBook. If it would be most at home, I would have saved a few hundred US dollars and bought only a plug-in keyboard. But for our purposes better keyboard and the screen brighter really matter, so I spent the extra money for the Pro. If you are not planning, a lot of typing, or if you plan to use it often at home, I do not believe that the additional expenditure would be really worth it.

As another reviewer pointed out, this thing is hot. Very hot. I have always found a laptop computer into a little warm for laptops, but it would be a painful on unprotected flesh. The magnetic connection for the power cable is very nice. The lifespan of the battery is not bad, and it is not large - surfing the Web and word processing, I have managed a little more than four hours. I have not seen a whole DVD on him, but it seems to drain the battery faster. The children have already videoconferenced with their grandparents, and the built-in camera is very nice to do that.

Overall, this computer reminds me of my iPod - lean, sexy, simple, but challenging, to be funny. How much extra effort worthwhile that you choose, whether it is the computer for you.
