* 5-6 apples * 1/2 cup sugar * 1 teaspoon butter * Few gratings of nutmeg * 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon * 2 pie crusts

1. Roll out half the pie crust dough and line the pie plate; prepare the top sheet of pie crust and set aside. 2. Pare, core, and cut the apples into eighths. 3. Pile apples into pie tin in a mound. 4. Add sugar and spices mixed together, spreading evenly over the apples. 5. Dot with butter, brush the rim of the pie crust dough with cold water. 6. Lay the top crust over it and press the edges together firmly. Trim. 7. Bake forty to forty-five minutes in a 400-425 degree oven.
