Rip Off Report.com has many accusations pending against them in recent news. In one such accusation, Magedson, ( CEO of ROR) is accused of allowing distorted posts to remain on his site until the targeted business complies with payment to remove the allegations. It is thought that if the company does not comply with Magedson's request for cash, he posts distorted remarks on the site. It is also alleged that Magedson has manipulated the information found on his site for profitable reasons as well.

There are many companies that believe that his libel ( written lies about a person or company) is obsene enough to be punishable by law. Because of this, Rip Off Report now has several lawsuits still pending against them.

 On August 12th, 2009, Jim Allen, CEO of ApplianceZone.com happened across one of these malicious posts about his company. This post was placed by a customer who disagreed with company policy on parts returns once his order was placed. The post had been distorted and spoke of untrue events that took place.

The fact that ROR condones such post on thier site is written proof that there is no research done to credit the truth or fiction of a statement before it is placed. This holds the company liable  in my point of view, for all untrue statements that reach the public eye.
