Michael The Archangel.
Sadly,I read a hub by a ‘Christian’ writer yesterday ,who claimed ,that Michael the Archangel was the leader of the fallen angels ;the writer erroneously claimed that St. Michael was satan.I write this brief hub in the hopes of correcting this grave error.
While visiting San Giovanni in Italy, home of St. Padre Pio,I had the great privilege of visiting the basilica of St. Michael- a place to which Padre Pio commended many of those who sought his advice and support.
St. Michael, The Archangel, has always been regarded as central to defending the honour and glory, that should by right be given to God. The Scriptures are absolutely clear that it was the Archangel Michael, who took the initiative in opposing satan and those angels whom he-satan- had corrupted.
St. Michael, the Archangel prevailed when the fallen angels were cast out of Heaven. These fallen angels had been seduced by power-pride-while St. Michael was –and continues to be animated by his commitment to the service of God, his creator.
Christians worldwide look to Michael the Archangel to uphold and support them-against the temptations of satan.
Among the compelling Scriptural references ,highlighting the pre-eminence of St. Michael ,in defending the honour and glory of God is Revelation –chapter 12
’And now war broke out in heaven, when Michael with his angels attacked the dragon. The dragon fought back with his angels, dared to denounce him in the language of abuse; all he said was, 'May the Lord rebuke you.'
Traditional Prayer To St. Michael To Defend Us Against Satan
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle;
be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray:
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen
This prayer is being encouraged throughout churches to ask St. Michael's intercession in stopping abortionists.

James-I really appreciate this comment-what concerned me was, the fact that a regular 'Christian' writer wrote the article, and he has a large following.
While I am of the protestant faith and do not pray to angels, as Revelation 22:8-9 states, "And I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things. And he said to me, 'Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who heed the words of this book; worship God'", I am thankful you addressed this awful teaching!
I'm glad you got a couple of corrective comments through to that hubber, though he denied my comment. I thought he was a Christian, but to say Michael was cast out of heaven for rebelling against God is blasphemous!
In fact, Michael disputed with Satan over the body of Moses in Jude verse 9 and he dared not rebuke Satan, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" Michael means "who is like God" and to defamate Michael is to defamate God!
Satan warred against Michael and anyone who states such things about Michael is not a child of God!! Thank you for addressing this. I pray that hubber realize the error of his ways, for God holds all teachers more accountable! James 3:1 states, "Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment." That hubber lost a fan! God bless you, sister!

The whole worship issue-yes it's always a misunderstading between faiths-however-we R/C s see 'worship' as something God is deserving of -.and prayer to angels as intercessory prayer.All prayer is to God And only God can answer prayer.

Well done! Why would anyone make such an outrageous claim? A question for you: Why is the Archangel Michael given the title saint? I could never understand that.
The other archangels,Gabriel,Raphael,are also called saint-I would assume special recognition from church for their service to God -considering the roles they played in major events in the bible.Must check it out though-good question.

Throughout Scripture we see that Paul was a defender of the faith, defender of the truth and defender of faithful who followed Christ.
