Simple but elegant Foam moldings make a difference

Beautify your home with minimal costs:

Exterior foam window trim moldings may be your best option and one of the answers to updating and/or selling your home. Of course once the foam moldings are up you may not want to sell. The installation is very basic, something the homeowner can do. Basic carpentry skills are all that is needed. If you feel the undertaking is more than you can handle? A good foam molding manufacture should have there own installers.

Picking the correct moldings will be the hard part. Finding that perfect molding that will go with your home elevation can be tricky. One popular request to foam molding manufactures and foam installers is “I want large moldings around my windows”. What I think you should do is keep in mind, large moldings sometimes look good for a large home and conversely small moldings for smaller homes. The picture in this post depicts a fairly good size 2 story home that is over 3,200 sq. ft. living. All the white areas except the fascia are made with coated foam moldings. The foam moldings give the home some depth.  A type of 3D effect rather than the simple basic flat stucco band. The foam moldings around the windows, doors and garage doors are 4 inches wide and project out 2 inches. Foam moldings near the ground level are 12 inches wide and project out 9 inches. The point is other than the lower band molding the molding size is small in comparison to the size of the home. I suggest working with the Manufacture/Installer for advice for choosing and/or creating foam moldings for your home. This should be a free service.

Maybe you are thinking I have stucco banding now what can I do? One answer is to enhance the flat stucco band with 3D foam moldings. The average stucco band is approximately from 4 to 10 inches wide.  Enough room to apply a smaller molding on top of the existing stucco banding. Another alternative cover the whole stucco band. No matter which you choose the result will add beauty and value to your home.
