What hasn't been written about politics? Or any political news.....we write about health care reform, cash for clunkers, the stimulus package, the Iraq war,the Afghan war,the economy,Korea,China, etc. etc......

And now with all this going on in the world today, we write about OF ALL THINGS, Michelle Obama wearing shorts?? Are you kidding me! You don't think there is enough going on in the world today, we have to bring up her SHORTS!

What is the problem with it? Because she is probably the first, first lady to do it, now it's a big deal?

She was on vacation it was hot and she wanted to be comfortable. I would do the same thing, even though my legs probably don't look as good. (no comment!)

Look, they were not "Daisy Dukes" or 'Short Short's" Then I might have a problem with it. But they were wore in good taste, very casual, and I see nothing wrong with it.

The people voted for change and there you go....be comfortable with who you are and what you choose to wear.

Let's worry about more pressing issues can we?

She's young in good shape, so get over it! And let's move on.

So the next time you go on vacation to a place where it might be 100 degrees in the shade, I bet you won't even think twice about putting your shorts on........

What do you think? Is this such a big deal, compared to all the other problems we have?

I'm sorry I even have to write about this. And I think the media as usual blows everything out of proportion.

I'm going to go put my shorts on now I'm hot! I mean warm.......hot from the weather, you know what I mean.

What Do You Think?

Should The First Lady Be Allowed To Wear Shorts?

  • Yes, I see no problem with it.
  • No, it's not first lady like.

I agree that people get caught up in such insignificant things when there are real issues to be concerned about. Good Hub.

When Obama got of the Presendential Helicopter recently, he didn't have a tie on - my 84 year old father-in-law (who voted Obama) was horrified and wondered what the world was coming to! At the end of the day it's only clothes - and why shouldn't the President and his wife be comfortable!

This is hilarious! And very true - right on the mark. Why do we Americans concern ourselves with the frivolous and trivial details when we should focus our energy into more important issues at hand? Way to make me laugh K Partin.

Hey Maita, I'm doing good, hope you are well too. I know people think they have to be so perfect all the time. I'm glad she loosened up, good for her. Thanks Kerry

Hey Kerry,

Great points. I think there are far more important issues concerning our country than what the first lady decides to wear. I don't think I would mind even if she was wearing daisy dukes...

I think it might just make our president seem a little more human so that probably causes a little nervousness in some folks. "The leader of our country is a big office... He can't be just like me" thinking probably kicks in.

Personally, I even chuckled when everyone got so bent out of shape over Clinton and his affairs. Whose business was it? He wasn't trading military secrets for a bj... He was just a man who made a mistake. He shouldn't have lied about it after getting caught but we shouldn't have been asking either.

Kudos to the Obama's for the strength to face the public scrutiny and Kudos to you for standing up for them.

Thanks Palmer for the great comment couldn't agree more. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Clinton was a great President! What he did had nothing to do with running the country. We were never so prosperous!! K.

I have no problem with it as it was in good taste. They weren't meeting any dignataries or anything that required protocol. For me, I don't want my legs to become a distraction..LOL
