This hub is for those people whose loved ones is in distant place and might not go home this Christmas.
The “Ber” months already appears in our calendar. September will be followed by October then by November, and alas by December. Geez, this mean we’re just under 100 days away from Christmas. Time blew so fast and was unnoticed.
However, this year is indeed was a struggle as economic turmoil crippled many countries all across the planet. Many people were displaced from their jobs, some were still unemployed and hard times were felt all across the planet.
Financial crunch is indeed battering people from all walks of life and hopefully recovery will soon be within sight.
The coming Christmas day I hope may not be bleak for many and for those who are away from home earning income for their respective family, may opt not to come home for a Christmas vacation to save.
The expenses could whipped out going home might be expensive especially for those overseas foreign workers (OFWs), and eventually some would rather stay with their work helplessly forced to squander the opportunity of seeing their beloved ones – children, parents, sisters, brothers, bosom friends and relatives. Also, some might not go home because of studies or perhaps not keen on making time to do it, hehehe. Expatriates, and those busy with threir work might also miss the chance of coming home.
If our loved ones will not come home, this will certainly be like a bitter pill to swallow but this scenario seems bound to happen especially for many overseas workers.
Without our loved ones in sight this Christmas holiday the carols of people from all ages will surely make you lonelier, the Christmas tree adorned with colorful decorations is like a still thing with no life unto it, very dull and dry, the glitters of Christmas lights in houses will be ignored as if you are color blind or perhaps blind and the Christmas dinner will perhaps have no meaning as if it’s a regular day.
Oftentimes, things don’t fall apart as we wish it to happen, sacrifices should be made and be more than willing to accept things that will happen inevitably. If your loved ones don’t come for Christmas this is actually a one step backward two step forward approach. Sometimes we need to lose something to gain more. The essence of Christmas is love, and our thoughts and prayers might compensate with something that is lacking. Let our thoughts and mind be filled with the fine moments we have had together with the people we love that are not present. Being lonely is a sign of hunger for love and it is okay to be sad to savor and understand life further.
Find opportunities to be happy.
