Are You Using The Right Facial Cleanser?
66
Knowing your skin type is the crucial key in having healthy skin! You will find that if you are using the wrong skin care products you will not be able to achieve your skins maximum potential. Knowing your skin type is the first thing to consider when investing in any skin care products.
Also keep in mind what your goal is for your facial products:
Do you have a blemish problem?
Do you have uneven skin tone?
Do you have fine lines/wrinkles?
These are just a few examples of things to keep in mind when you are picking out your skin care products.
What Skin Type Do You Have?
Normal Skin - You do not have break outs or shine control problems. After washing your face feels comfortable.
Oily Skin - After washing your face feels fine, but by afternoon it looks oily. Oily skin is prone to a lot of break outs. Skin feels greasy to the touch. Pore size is normally larger.
Combination Skin - After washing your face, you feel dry in some areas. You’re most oily in the T-zone area. Dry in other areas on the face. T-zone break outs normally happen a lot with this skin type.
Sensitive Skin - Your skin feels irritated after washing. Your face may burn or itch. Some redness may occur with dry flaky patches. Mild break outs can occur.
Dry – Your skin may feel tight and may hurt after washing. You may notice flaking even when using moisturizers. Your makeup may look patchy on certain areas of the skin.
If you are still unsure of what skin type you have then ask your doctor. This is a common question that doctors are asked.
As we get older our body goes through changes. You may have once had oily skin now your skin type could be dry. This is normal! Just keep in mind that your skin type can change and if that happens you may need to change your skin care products.
Skin Care Tips
Do you have frequent breakouts? This could be caused by a number of reasons. However, try to limit how much you touch your face. When you touch your face with your fingers you are transferring dirt and extra oil onto your face. This could be making you more prone to breakouts.
Does your face burn easily? First keep in mind if you have fair skin you will be more likely to burn. Make sure your moisturizers and other facial products include SPF protection in them. This will help protect your face from sun damage.
Did you know using bar soap can dry out your skin? If you already have dry skin; try to avoid using bar soap. Instead try using a liquid/powder cleanser!
Your diet can have a direct impact on your skin! If you find your face is overly oily or you have a lot of breakouts try eating a balanced diet. Remember to get in 8 glasses of water every day!
When cleansing your face you should use an upwards motion. A lot of women will start at the forehead and go downwards towards the chin. If you do this you’re not getting the maximum benefit from your cleanser. Start from your neck and in an upwards motion cleanse to your forehead.
Hair has natural oils in it that keep our hair healthy, but we dont want it to touch our face at night. At bed wear a soft cloth headband to keep the hair out of your face. This is especially important for those who already have oily skin or for those who have a lot of breakouts.
Your Makeup Might Be The Problem!
That was the case for me! I have combination skin and I did everything by the book to get healthy skin. I never considered the possibility that my makeup could be causing my skin problems. I switched to a different makeup manufacture and most of my skin problems cleared up. To learn more about natural makeup click here. I still have breakouts here and there, but nothing like I use to.
