Want to change the world?...start by changing your reactions...

...just a rant...
Believe it or not, we have a lot in common...
We wake up...we get ready for our day....we think about the things that have to be done that day...our minds are constantly going over things...things we worry about...and these thoughts race through our heads over and over..some of us have the power to overcome these worries...and go about our days...some of us can't and it stays on our minds all day...we go through the same situations during our day...we have conversations...some of us have customers...others have employees...but what makes us different? It's our reactions to these situations...for example:
Imagine you are your way to work. You hop onto the freeway...your check for mirrors as you merge onto the slow lane...you notice a car in the slow lane coming up behind you pretty fast...you say to yourself, "this car is not going to let me in this lane"...and your prediction is correct...what do you do? We all have had this happen before..but it is our reaction that makes us different. Some of us will just let it go..and go about our day. Others will get angry and chase that impolite car that almost ran us off the freeway.
How about this:
You are at the movies...you sit down...dig into your popcorn...previews start..then the movie starts...and all of a sudden, you hear someone talking in the seats behind you...you don't mind at first, because you hope they will stop once the movie really kicks in...but the talking doesn't stop....it becomes disruptive...what do you do? Some people will just let it go...and it will affect their enjoyment of the movie...others turn around and say something...this has consequences because a fight might ensue...again, it's the reaction that makes us different.
What is the point you might say? The point is that our society is evolving...evolving to a completely selfish being....gone are the days of looking out for each other...for respect for one another...the only thing that is left is self....looking out for ourselves...worrying about ourselves and not anyone else....and this my friends...is terrible.
Are nice people really becoming extinct? Life is about gaining now....people seem to do things for each other only if they receive something back...am I wrong? I hope I am....
Things have to change...you want peace? Then give peace...you want respect? Then, guess what? You give respect. We all have bad days..but it's our decision on whether our bad days create situations and give others their "bad" day...it starts and ends with self...you start your day with kindness..guess what, 9 times out of 10 it will end with kindness...we do this and guess what? we laugh more during the day...we smile during the day...and its infecious...
It's our reactions that make us different....how will you react tomorrow?
