When you’re dressing up for a party, don’t you wish your dog could have matching attire, i.e. cute dog costumes according to the theme of the party?? I’m sure there are many who wish that just like them…their pets too, are the centre of attraction wherever they go!

Do you spend hours cutting up your old dresses so that it’d fit your dog, sewing dog clothes?

Are the coats and sweaters that don’t fit you anymore your dog’s winter fashion?

Dressing up your pet is sometimes a necessity, for example during winter, but it can be a lot of fun too! Wouldn’t you want your dog in its cute dresses to attract as much attention as your clothes do?

Then what are you waiting for… now you can buy clothes for the cuddliest part of your life, and make them the hottest fashion statement in the world of pets!

And the best part of it is that these costumes are not only created for dogs, but for all the pets you can imagine-even for birds, and what’s more, they are very friendly on your purse! It’s just that dog clothes and in particular dog costumes are the most popular among all.

Now that we’ve assured you that you won’t have to hack your brains before every competition figuring out what costume your dog will wear. The only thing you’ll have to do search through the racks of a pet shop and choose a great costume! But as always, because it’s for your pet, and he can’t be uncomfortable, there are some things you’ll have to go over when buying costumes for your dogs.

• First, make sure that your dog enjoys wearing the costumes, take him to a few trial sessions, keep track of his behavior after he’s worn his dress…is he trying to tear it off, or yelping?? This is an important step…as it helps you gauge the size of your pet, the kind of costume to buy…and whether he’s keen to wear it at all.

• When it comes to choosing a costume, you can choose an entire trousseau for your best friend! There are different ranges and themes you can choose from….the Halloween range, or the superhero (or rather super dog) range that looks really good on the yappy dog! But when choosing a superhero costume, please do keep in mind that the fabric should not stick to the fur, or your dog might suffocate…choose ones that are easy flowing.

• If it’s for a dog competition, then choose a costume that goes well with his attitude. A quirky superhero costume would go very well with an active, friendly dog…on the other hand, a feminine costume like a princess costume or an angel costume will look beautiful on your old girl! If it’s a pup you want to buy a dress for, you can dress him up as cartoon characters, pixies and wizards…but keep a check on the comfort level, if your pup is teething, you’ll have to be extra careful and see that he doesn’t tear the dress.

• Is it Halloween costumes you’re looking for?? Then the best idea would be to buy them matching the theme of your children’s costumes! It is sure to be the trendsetter of the year! Moreover, it’d get your child all the goodies as your dog as nobody would refuse your dog Halloween goodies if he’s so sweetly dressed up for the occasion!

• Moving on to Christmas, doesn’t your dog require a costume to look every inch the Santa?? Then buy him the red coat and Santa hat…now that photograph is one for the family album! But if this is too stereotypical for you, don’t worry…you’re spoilt for choice! For example, dressing them as a clown is a great idea! You can also dress them as a pirate…complete with a skull embellished eye cap and a huge hat! But here’s a word of caution, while buying these, its best to first try them out on your dog, for there are some delicate parts of the costume which can be really uncomfortable.

• Dogs are an integral part of our family…wouldn’t it be a great idea to include him in your family photographs too?? Well then…make sure he looks his best! For example, sea side photographs would be incomplete without a pair of goggles propped on his eyes and a colorful hat on his head! In the same way, Christmas photographs would look best if he/she were in their sparkling clothes, a crown or a tiara would complete the gauzy princess look!

• There are so many innovations you could try out on your dog…you’d just have to let your imagination run riot! But before buying a costume, please see that the material facilitates breathing, is airy, hypo allergic and most importantly, does not shrink after a wash! For what’s the use of a garment that your dog can wear just one or twice?

Make sure that they’ll last for a long time, and will get your dog the praises from passersby, and looks of envy from those dogs who don’t have a beautiful costume!
