Disc Golf Basics

Items needed: Flying discs including a putter and driver, preferably metal baskets, tee boxes and land for a course.

Age Requirements: All who are willing to participate.

How to play: Players throw from a tee box toward a goal. The hole ends when you get it in the basket on a regular course.

How to score: Count how many throws it takes to reach the goal.

One of the first courses opened in La Canada in Los Angeles County. The sport has shifted from the coast of Northern California and the Midwest to the San Diego, Orange, and Riverside County areas.

It is simply the game of golf, played with a flying disc. The Professonal Disc Golf Association http://www.pdga.com/ has memberships and coverage of World wide tournaments that are held with winnings of up to $1.5 million.
