Sex eudcation in public schools is an issue that never seems to have an end.  Many times it boils down to a religious and political issue, which is why the sex education depate never seems to be resolved.  However, instead of looking at our value system when deciding on the approapitateness of sex education in school, we should instead be focusing on the health aspects of the question.

Currently, the HPV virus is one of the most common viruses found across the United States and the UK.  This is because teens and college students are not properly informed about how easy it is to spread gential warts and the HPV virus due to a poor history of sex education.  Most of the time people learn that they have been spreading the virus, and how it rears it's head after they have already begun to pass the virus around.

THis could be drastically altered if people instead focused on informing students about the dangers of the HPV virus during sex education before they had the diasease.  This is just one instant in which sex education would change the climate of the world we live in.

Sex education in schools does not neccessarily mean that a program would encourgage students to have sex.  In actaulity, any excellent sex education program should emphasize abstinence, but also provide students with the opportunity to learn about safe sex because morally rather we approve or not sex does occur before marriage commonly now.

Excellent article, I myself was not such a fan of sex education in schools but when you think about all the deadly stds out there i think its important for kids to be educated on the dos and donts. Also as parents it is a difficult topic to raise with your child.
