Are you living a transformative life or just laboring over a to-do list?
52The American Dream. Three words joined together many years ago, coining a phrase so representative of our nation's ideals that every four years they reemerge and get dusted off and re-spun into the web of rhetoric spewed from the mouths of our presidential candidates. As they each toil to find the right words to define what they think the phrase means to the rest of us, the humble masses, we all go through the motions of our lives, wondering when that magical day will come - the day the phrase American Dream morphs from an idealistic mirage to a reality so fulfilling that it exceeds any and all expectations we could have conjured in our hearts and minds.
During this gestational period leading up to the political birth of our next president - be the post awarded to a Democrat or a Republican, a male or a female or a Caucasian or an African-American - you may be certain of one fact. . .none of them have the power to deliver to you the life you so desperately seek. Nor can your spouse, children, friends or preacher part the proverbial seas and deposit you on a distant shore where your promised existence awaits. The only person that has the power to bring to you that which you want in your life is YOU. Regardless of what you wish to manifest - love, money, health, peace - the process of aligning with it begins and ends with you.
So after reading the last paragraph and picking up on those key words everyone is throwing around these days - manifest and aligning - you are saying to yourself, "Okay, here comes another one. . .yet another blogger all excited about the Law of Attraction - enough already!" Well, I am sorry to have to tell you - if you haven't read or seen ‘The Secret', you must. If you haven't read the works of Dr. Wayne Dyer, you must. If you haven't read anything by Esther and Jerry Hicks, you must. Learning about the principles and practices of the universal law which has brought everything man has ever experienced into creation is more important to your life than your location, vocation, education and religion - combined! So get reading and turn from one page to the next with an open mind.
After learning about the mechanics of creation in the abstract, you must then accept the existence and power of the ever present law behind it- and after that you must take a long, hard, honest look at your life and accept that everything and everyone that has permeated into your experience was sewn into the tapestry of your world by the needle in your hand. Honesty is crucial here; it's easy to take credit for the wonderful spouse and children we have, the cool new car we just got or the lucrative promotion that finally came our way. But what about the failed relationship, the frightening health diagnosis or the bad luck which caused financial ruin? Can we as easily accept that these were our doing because we unknowingly offered up a vibrational match to them? The enlightened person can - and he will take care not to do so again.
Life is supposed to be easy and joyous. Life is supposed to be fulfilling beyond our wildest dreams. Life is supposed to be all it can be, and our Creator has given us everything we need to procure the experiences we desire. If your life feels like a never ending stream of to-do lists filled with boredom and mediocrity then you're doing life WRONG. You arrived here ready for this earthly adventure with all the knowledge you needed to create a life filled with happiness and fulfillment - you've just had it beat out of you through the process of living by rules and standards created by the misguided egos of those who came before you. You must not waste the gift you have been given - learn to do life RIGHT! All it takes is a little bit of re-education.
Turn off the television and put down the wii. Get reading. . .and then get ready.
Have a Blessed Day,
Donna
