So you're going to open your own Home-based business and you want to be an entrepreneur. Here are just a few things that will help you decide and make a sound decision.

Let's look at what you need to set yourself apart from others to succeed at a home-based business. They are:

• Discipline
• Positive attitude
• Willingness to learn
• Patience

If you have these you are well on your way. But, let's just say you're not sure or you are hesitant and yet you still believe that you can make it.

Let's take each category above and go into more detail.

Discipline...

This is big. Suddenly you're home and you don't have someone looking over your shoulder and pushing and prodding you to produce. Suddenly you must find your own purpose to rise out of bed and begin the day.

What to do? You must discipline yourself and create a schedule. This schedule must address what time you will start, take a break, eat lunch, exercise and end the day.

Put it into an 8 to 5 format and expect that sometimes you will work overtime here too.

Don't allow family and friends to chip into your new work schedule. They may think of you retired but you're not.

You are NOT available at all times. This is really a hard concept for them but you need to lay down the rules.

Don't feel guilty about this decision. Just let them know that things have not really changed from when you left home for work till now. Just a different location.

Give yourself a comfortable work space that you enjoy walking to in the morning. Keep the environment clean and thought provoking. Keep it fun.

The other side of this coin is your home-based business as a second job. I would venture to say that this is where most of you are. With the goal of being your main business. Great GOAL.....

When you come home you must think of this as just that, a "second job." Don't ignore your family, put the kids to bed, have dinner, and when the lights are out you go to work.

It only has to be 1 to 2 hours a day and then plan on a little on the weekend. At least 10 to 20 hours a week.

Positive Attitude...

Know in your heart that you can do this. Do Not be afraid and don't let things overwhelm you. When frustration or the feeling of being overwhelmed hit....step back. Do not take things personally. Be a DUCK..shake things off and go for more..

Prepare yourself to win.

Learn to imagine real success.

Imagine what you would like to have happen so that it almost becomes a "personal movie" that lets you experience and enjoy what is about to happen.

As you imagine your success, you feel happier and less stressed. Hence you have an Attitude for true success.

Willingness to learn...

Think of yourself as a "life long student." Make it a part of your new schedule to read something new on network marketing, or self improvement or whatever you choose.

Research the best network marketing MLM business opportunities, good and bad, grow your entrepreneurial spirit. Beware of ones that promise they will do it all or ask for money upfront. Know that there is a lot to learn and enjoy the new "curve."

The old saying goes, "the more you learn, the more you earn." Your knowledge becomes your power.

Patience...

Last but not least. Patience.......This is not a "get rich quick" business. As stated before you are in the drivers seat. You set the time, you set the mind, you do the research and as you continue to grow you will succeed.

It just takes..... Time.

Keep your "eye on the ball." Stick to your plan so that you know when "you have arrived."
