After the Padres were defeated at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers on September 29, Diamondbacks were guaranteed both the title and the NL West home throughout the NL playoffs.

The D-backs ran out of momentum against a Colorado team that has just could not lose.

The 2007 season overall was a great success, with many young players; an indication of their potential and proving that the team would be a force in the National League for years to come.
