We as humans have been wearing armbands ever since caesar times (gladiators wore armbands) and we probably wore them for whatever reason way before then too. Today we see armbands worn by sportsmen, for example in soccer the team captain is usually singled out by wearing a fabric armband. For some reason armbands just look cool so it stands to reason that they would be a big hit in the tattoo industry too. Armband Tattoos have become common place, almost as popular as the lower back tattoos but not quite there yet.

The most popular armband tattoo designs are tribal ones. They are usually spikey black patterns weaved in a curvy nature. We all know of the infamous barbwire armband that Pamela Anderson has. You now see many people with barbwire designs but with a twist. They are done in a tribal style. These are very cool! Many designs now feature like a family crest ontop of a tribal or celtic armband. So the crest would sit on the center of your bicep (outer arm) with the tribal or celtic design wrapping itself around the rest of the arm. These are cool and meaningful especially if the crest is your familes one.

Armband Additions:

Most people at sometime or another will add to their existing tattoos.  A good addition for people who currently have a single tattoo on their upper arm would be to add a tribal or celtic design around it creating a cool armband tattoo.
