Armchair Game Viewing Updated with Additional Webcam links
65Who says you cannot view wildlife from home!
Well, living in South Africa has a lot of perks, as we are surrounded with Game Reserves, how ever this can be rather costly with the price of petrol, wear and tear on motor car, accomadation and the amount of time versus the time you can spend in the parks.
Well while surfing the net I discovered the best way to view not only animals, but see all sort of other sites as well.
All this, without leaving your home and being turn away from your PC and cold frosties in your fridge.
Captured from a live web camera feed which you can find on ttp://www.sanparks.org, Look for the webcam tab on the site after you have read all there is on the web site.
Happy reading, and hopefully many hours of happy game viewing.

G-Ma,yes it is so very nice to nice to see the wild animals. Lucky you have such aa venue where they can be viewed. Thanks for the comment. ;-0
I love National Geographic's features on the wild so thanks for sharing the links :D
As I said Chris this is one of those hubs that will always have new links added as I find them. Thanks for the comment
That's really cool... thanks
Thanks for the visit Foxility, it is cool, and a nice way of viewing the world.
Great idea sharing that Rod. There are quite a few of these gamepark feeds. I think there is one at Pilanesberg too.
I wonder if everyone realises that these are live real time feeds not utube videos.
I think they do, but as I add to the hub will time and date stamp them as wll as which location they are from. Thanks for the comment and the improvements to the hub that came to mind becouse of it.
This is very cool with the webcam. I will have to visit again because there were no animals now but the cameras were all working. Thanks for sharing, very interesting material.
CS, as they say it is the luck of the draw. The day that I decided to write the hub I was lucky to see the activity at the watering hole.
To give you some perspective, here is an extract from Wiki, giving you the demographics of the park.
It is the largest game reserve in South Africa. It covers 18,989 square km (7,332 sq mi) and extends 350 km (217 mi) from north to south and 60 km (37 mi) from east to west
So sometimes you are lucky to see animals as they have a lot of open area to roam in.
Thanks for the comment.
Very interesting 'view' you have when the time s right! Is that a female Eclectus parrot on your shoulder? She is beautiful!
Darlene, this is the way it is when trying to view game, you have to be patient also remeber we in South Africa are onthe GMT + 2 hours time zone, so you have to pick your times.
Even so there is a lot of nocturnal activity as well.
It is not not a female Eclectus, but an Indian Ring Neck, it is still a juvie but reckon it being a male,
You can read a lot about him, Goompy, in my hubs ie Life with Goompy, making space for, Home to roost, Red rules, The Kitchen and Goompy, These hubs are all; about him.
Enjoy browsing those hubs and thanks for the comment.
I love live-cams. Many times it's the closest I'll ever get to actually seeing locations in real time. I'll check this out.
Karen, live cams are great to use as well as to armchair travel as like many others overseas travel is a bit out of our budgets, still waiting for a decent payout for my writing efforts.
However the writing keeps my mind active and meeting and s"speaking to all the hubbers is reward in itself.
Take care!
