Arm's Reach Crib Review
71Arm's Reach Co Sleepers (also known as Arms Reach Crib), the Universal, Original, and Mini, are all great alternatives to a crib or bassinet, especially if you want to cosleep with your baby. Find out where you can buy the Arm's Reach co sleeper, what the average cost is, and review some of the pros and cons of the crib alternative to see if it suits what you're looking for.
Any of the Arm's Reach Co Sleepers are a great alternative to a bassinet or crib, if you're looking for one. Arm's Reach Co Sleepers allow you and baby to feel like he or she's sleeping right next to you in bed. This is great for the bonding process and it especially makes it an easier night for you if you are breastfeeding. The different Arm's Reach co sleepers also have great areas for storage of items like toys, diapers, wipes, etc all within an arm's reach!
Baby Sleeping Next to Bed in His CoSleeper
There are three different size co sleepers that Arm's Reach makes: the Universal Co Sleeper, the Original Co Sleeper and the Mini Co Sleeper. The Universal and Original CoSleepers are larger units, where as the Mini Co Sleeper is for smaller rooms or someone who just doesnt want something taking up as much space as a crib. I prefer the Mini Cosleeper, but compare all three to see which one is best for you.
The only major difference between the Universal/Original Co Sleeper and Mini CoSleeper (that I know of) is the difference in size. I personally have only used the Mini CoSleeper only because I prefer the smaller size.

The Arm's Reach Oringinal Co Sleeper is recommended for babies up to 23 lbs. and up to 6 months of age. The dimensions of the Arn's Reach Original Co Sleeper are a bit larger than the Mini Co Sleeper. Find out more specifics in the manufacturer description, above.
Arm's Reach Co Sleeper Cons
- Really, the only thing I personally dislike about the Arms Reach CoSleeper is that I was looking for a closer bond with baby than what I was able to achieve with the Deluxe Snuggle Nest. This did provide that, but it still didn't allow for more of the skin to skin/body to body contact bonding that I wanted.
Arm's Reach Co Sleeper Pros
- You can get multiple uses out of it: It can be used similarly to a bassinet or crib, you can use it as a changing table and it can also be used as a play yard.
- Attaches securely to the side of your bed.
- Has legs that can be purchase separately and added on to adjust to the height of your bed.
- Provides ease of mind in knowing that you or your partner won't roll over on baby.
- Collapses and can be taken with you - it's portable.
- You can safely leave baby in the cosleeper and listen in while cleaning or doing other activities with a baby monitor - like one of the great ones you can find at baby safety monitors guide.

Where Can I Find an Arm's Reach Co Sleeper?
You can usually find the Original and Mini CoSleeper in retail stores every where. If you have trouble finding them in the stores, you can order them from the retailers online store, or another distributor of the items.
The Universal CoSleeper is a little harder to find. I'm not sure if they're phasing it out - I've mostly just seen it on the Babies R Us website lately.
What is the Average Cost of an Arm's Reach Co Sleeper?
It depends on which unit you are referring to.
Universal Co Sleeper: I've pretty much only seen one average price for this item (and I've only recently seen it on the Babies R Us site) for about $209.
Original Co Sleeper: On average it retails for about $150-$180 brand new.
Mini Co Sleeper: On average it retails for about $130-$140.
If you are ordering online, don't forget you will probably need to pay for shipping, and because the CoSleeper a larger item, you should generally expect that the shipping is going to add about $25 or so to the price. Of course, if you don't mind used, you can sometimes find either item at yard sales or on eBay for up to half the price, or at least save $10 or $20.
Of course, if you decide that the Arms Reach Co Sleeper is not for you and you would prefer to go with a crib, you can find some great baby crib bedding sets to match the crib of your choice.
