How do copper bracelets work?
Many arthritis sufferers resort to different approaches to find relief from their debilitating arthritis pain. Acupressure, acupuncture, holistic and herbal remedies are just a few among alternate treatments, and of course, the good old folk remedy of copper bracelets still remains popular among arthritis sufferers.
Copper bracelets are believed to work through the ability of the skin to absorb minerals. Because copper has been considered helpful in keeping bones healthy and regenerating the cartilage lining, it has been sold for years as an arthritis remedy even though its effectiveness remains still pretty controversial.
There are people that cannot go on a day without wearing their copper bracelet and then there are those that hardly have yet to see an improvement.
The real effectiveness of these bracelets is hard to tell, as they may easily have a placebo effect. The merchants selling these bracelets may brain wash us customers about all the qualities, that once worn we all seem to feel much better. There may be lists and lists of testimonials from people benefiting from copper bracelets scattered all over merchant's website.
The attractive brownish-red color of copper jewelry has also been popular for its beauty. If you want to give this bracelet a try make sure you buy pure copper as there are many imitations out there where nothing close to copper is sold.
Copper has been used to ease arthritis since ancient times, there is proof it has been used by the Greeks because of its potential healing powers. Nowadays, copper is appreciated for its conductiveness and therefore, it is successfully utilized for conducting electricity. This quality is also believed to be a plus for those suffering from arthritis, since it's qualities will be "conducted" throughout the human mind, body and spirit.
While there may be benefits it is also vital to consider that copper has also its downsides.
There are those people that may develop skin sensitivities or allergies. People that have sensitivities to other types of jewelry should highly consider avoiding copper.
On a different perspective, price is another issue to consider. There are some companies that will charge higher than average prices just to make a big profit. It is always recommended to do shop comparisons and look for legitimate companies, your goal should be to look for high quality copper at a reasonable price.
Regardless of its effectiveness, copper jewelry has become more and more popular these days and they are crafted now into very eye appealing jewelry. Famous golfers and tennis players have been seen wearing a copper bracelet. If we think about it after all, a person suffering from arthritis has not very much to lose: if it works relieving the pain then great, otherwise he/she will be left with a unique 100% pure copper piece of jewelry that can be worn at any special occasion.

This is a good article, yes my husband wore one for years, but was never sure whether it really helped or if it was other things he took that helped.
I always say, if we think it works then go for it. what do they say mind over matter. thanks for sharing.
