Arthritis is a disorder that affect the joints and muscles . Arthritis can affect any joint in the body, from the small joints of the fingers to the major joints, like the hips and knees. Older people are usually affected by this disorder.



Types of Arthritis :

  1. Osteoarthritis - an inflammation of the joint which results in pain. It is caused by wearing of the cartilage that covers and acts as a cushion inside joints.
  2. Rheumatoid arthritis - A chronic disease marked by stiffness and inflammation of the joints, weakness, loss of mobility, and deformity.

Causes:

  • Lack of exercise.
  • Excessive use of the joint. Like with athletes and workers who do manual jobs.
  • The immune system attacks the joints.
  • Cold weather can also cause the pain.
  • Improper diet and lack of Vitamin C and Magnesium.

Symptoms of Arthritis :

  • A burning pain more often felt down in the side of the legs.
  • Deformation is seen on the affected area like in the hands and feet.
  • Feeling of pain when exercising.
  • Difficulty in movement, like climbing stair, sewing and even doing simple chores.

Prevention / Treatments of Arthritis :

  • Eat foods that are rich in complex carbohydrates, low in sodium, sugar and fats.
  • Mild exercise to keep the bones and joints strong.
  • Green tea - is a natural anti-oxidant.
  • Vitamin E and Selenium both are powerful antioxidant, strengthens the immune system, prevents premature aging of the organs.
  • Zinc - it helps repair tissues.
  • Magnesium - helps in the proper function of muscles and nerves.
  • Vitamin C - maintains collagen, the protein like "cement" that support and hold the body tissues.
  • Garlic - rich in sulfur, pain reliever, potent antioxidant, prevent degenerative diseases like arthritis.
  • Warm lotion - pain reliever.
