Abstract Photography
72Abstract arts and Photography
Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color, and line to create a composition, which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world.
Abstraction indicates an exodus from reality in illustration of imagery in art. This exodus from accurate representation can be only slight, it can be partial, or it can be complete. Abstraction exists along a continuum.
Artwork that takes liberties, altering for instance color and form in ways that are conspicuous, can be say to be partially abstract. Total abstraction bears no trace of any reference to anything recognizable.
Photography is an art and an entirely different skill set. Same the way as Abstract art the Abstract Photography is define simply as "the process or technique of rendering optical images on photosensitive surfaces.”
Actually, abstract photography is a direct result of the earlier abstract art form that made famous by many eminent artists. Nearly everyone at some point of time had a brush with this type of photography, has valued, or collected the abstract photographs.
Abstract Photography
As the name "abstract" refers to that the image or photo can be understand but not seen. This art form is complex and difficult to understand. However, it attracts a huge number of art critics and art collectors from all over the world, and many explanation may be accompany abstract paintings. Correspondingly, abstract photography draws the same popularity except now done with a camera and not with brush and paint.
The perfect meaning of this art is difficult but it is adequate to understand that there are no rules or regulations for creating the in non-professional terms "anything goes" as long as it attracts the eyes. This photography technique is use to capture almost any event in a delicate manner.
To be proficient in this type of art, you should have high-speed camera and occasionally a special high-speed film. To obtain the best results you can do it by using a black and white film and many famous photographs are of this range. You should keep the following aspects in the mind:
- You should have a perfect understanding of conservative photographic principles concerning shutter speed, aperture, focusing, and film speed and lighting effects.
- The telephoto lenses close up lenses and flash equipment form a part of creating the abstract photography.
- Films of different types of colors, speed in ASA or DIN, tripod, remote shooting, filter lenses, shadow hoods etc.
Composing, a perfect shot demands the role of "artist" and taking the photograph demands the role of “technician.” Therefore, bring both in yourself, and heighten your creativity.
Selecting a subject for abstract photography is very challenging. However, it is very satisfying; it opens the mind to a brand new visual experience, one that causes the imagination beyond the regularity of point of view.
Abstract photography is not just about shooting the image in its sum total. The perception of abstract photography has inherent values. The photographer not only concentrates on lines, forms and textures, but the characteristic of colors along with symphony to achieve a great image. Abstract photography is the abstraction of part of an image that makes up the whole image. You remove all aspects of the image to reveal its artistic value.
The Elements of Abstract Digital Photography
Motion
Taking Motion pictures is a difficult task with an inexpensive Digital Camera. Some cameras have a very poor shutter time and a low frame rate making Motion pictures very difficult to capture. With a bit of help you can get an anticipated action, and learn to smooth your timing. Shooting motion or action pictures used in jobs like sports photography, abstract photography, and science to name a few.

Macro
Macro photography is a true art of focal points and perceptual contrast, a truly good macro image takes patience and a good eye for detail. Macro pictures are necessity of Websites, advertisement and for overall photography. It is a sect in photography, which is dedicated to close-ups and usually requires a Macro lens with a magnification ratio of about 1:4.

Equipment
Equipments needed for a well-lit image of the required size are:
- A macro lens is necessary in abstract photography. A macro lens may be optimizing to provide its best performance at a magnification of 1:1. However, "standard" (1:1) macro lenses are common. There are different categories of macro lenses, depending on the focal length:
o 50–60mm range
o 90–105mm range
o 150–200mm range
· Attaching a telephoto extender between the camera body and the lens gives a larger image, adding macro ability. As with an extension tube, less light will reach the film or sensor, and a longer exposure time will needed.
· Reversing the lens using a "reversing ring". This special adapter attaches to the filter thread on the front of a lens and makes it possible to attach the lens in reverse. For cameras with all-electronic communications between the lens and the camera body, reversing rings are available which allow all camera functions, to use.
· Reversing a lens of less focal length in front of a normally mounted lens using an inexpensive macro coupler can be screw into the filter threads on the front of the two lenses to join them mechanically. This method allows most cameras to maintain the full function of electronic communication with the normally mounted lens for features such as open-aperture metering.
Depth of field
Limited depth of field is an important consideration in Abstract photography. This makes it essential to focus critically on the most important part of the subject, as elements that are even a millimeter closer or farther from the focal plane might be noticeably blurry. Compact digital cameras and small-sensor bridge cameras have an incidental advantage in Abstract photography due to their inherently further working distance. High-quality inexpensive auxiliary close-up lenses can be use to achieve the needed close focus; they function identically to reading glasses. This effect makes it possible to achieve very high quality macro photographs with relatively inexpensive equipment, since auxiliary close-up lenses are far cheaper than dedicated SLR macro lenses.
Lighting
With Abstract photography, if you are shooting with available light, the fact that you are shooting a small object means that the light is easy to adjust with reflectors and diffusers. You are likely to be using long exposure times to maximize depth of field. If you are using lens extension, the exposure times will be just that much longer. If you are shooting indoor still-objects is not a problem, but if you are shooting outdoors then a slight breeze can trouble you.
One feature of a flash-illuminated Abstract shot is that the background, far away compared to the distance of the subject, is unilluminated by the flashes and records on the film as a strong black. When done well this result in the subject standing out, isolated from distracting visual elements. When done inadequately, it results in a highly artificial look to the photograph.
The problem of sufficient and even lighting the subject can be difficult to overcome. Ring flashes, with flash tubes arranged in a circle around the front of the lens, can be helpful in lighting at close distances.
Marketing
The best places to sell Abstract Digital Photography are the site for stock photography. Web Graphics are on almost every website. Describing your photos such a way that, their interpretive meaning can easily understood. Tact of proper key wordings is helpful here. If the images obviously indicate, what they are intend for, then people will use them as abstract images for articles in magazines and for other usages on the internet.
