Tatto From A Different Time

I have no feelings about people having tattoos either way. I have seen some beautiful tattoos particularly some of the Click here: Asian Tattoos    When I was around 13 years old in 1973 an old a friend and I wrapped string around a needle and prepared ourselves to tattoo our girlfriends names on our arms. Not a bright move at that time. Later I tried to remove the tattoo with sandpaper ,salt, and lemon juice. The D and the E came out but left a scar to that effect.

A couple years later I was working with horses at a horeshow and the blacksmith bought me a coverup tattoo of a peacock only  because her name on my arm was pretty long and that was all he had to cover it. At that time the ink was not as advanced as todays style of ink and would fade with time.

As years went by one time came along and  a little fellow around 5 asked me what was on my arm a turkey? Well it was supposed to be a peacock I explained that the tattoo had faded with time and the feathers had become ruffled.

I had the tattoo recolored but once again it faded with time and I heard the next young whippersnapper refer to my tattoo as a a blob.

This is interesting, Gary. I don't know a lot about tattoos, but I always thought it would be cool if a tattoo could somehow automatically fade and go away after some time period (6 months? a year?)
