When planning to ask a girl out, the first thing that the guy needs to do is become somewhat acquainted with her. This becomes the tricky part. The guy needs to come up with some reason to be able to go up and talk to her. The biggest mistake most guys make is coming up with some elaborate story, which turns the girl off right away. It's better to be simple, making small talk about current events or the current situation. It really depends on the situation whether you should introduce yourself right away. If the girl is alone then give about 80% of your attention to her. If she is with friends, give only about 40%. Give the other 60% to her friends, preferably to the guys if they are around. One thing a guy can learn, if they haven't already, is to never give full attention to the girl. It will turn the girl off. A little game of cat and mouse, if you will. The girl likes to feel as if there is bit of a challenge.
After making yourself known to the girl, it is important to show instances of interest in her. Short but meaningful eye contact, brief touches to her arm or hand, and smiling are great ways to show her that there is the possibility that you are interested.
After some converstation, simply tell her you would love to meet for coffee or lunch sometime. It is better to meet over a casual occation. This will make her feel comfortable and more willing to see you. After she agrees to see you, find out if you hit it off. If the both of you do, state you would like to take her out again, but this time on a more intimate level.

Sarang, one thing you might be doing wrong is giving this girl too much attention. You definately need to play games. Show interest in other girls. Make her wonder what you are thinking. A little cat string theory if you will.

Don't come out tell her how you feel. This might scare her off. Give it some time. You have to be smooth and act like you want to hang out and be friends. It is important to show some flirtatious interest though. If she starts to show interest in you, try and get closer to her. As a general rule, as soon as you show great interest in a girl, she will be turned off.

Don't make it so obvious that you are asking a girl out. Just simply say "what are you doing tomorrow or this weekend?" If she says no or says she can't then simply smile and say ok. You have lost nothing and only have something to gain if she says yes.

The important thing is to show only little signs of interest. If she won't give you a definate answer, you need to not let her waste your time and let her see this.
You forgot to mention that we only like games for so long. At the beginning, yes, "cat and mouse" can be cute. But after several weeks of frustrating confusion and wondering over allusions and hints and guessing if they mean stuff or not, a girl can be turned off pretty quick. Keep that in mind.

Kev, you need to invite her to some social event or gathering. "Some friends and I are going to be doing (something) this weekend. You should come." Or if you really think shes into you, then go ahead and ask if she wants to do lunch or coffee.
I need a good opinion on this situation:
I like this chick. Lets call her Lulu. I never really knew her until 10/13. i introduced myself and our personalitys are like a perfect match, we are able to hold a convo for a while..etc. Ive gotten to know her friends and for the most part, they all seem to like me. I even know her mom and little brother and they both like me too. A lot of people think that we should go out but, I have no clue if shes interested. And, i hear from one of her friends that is a really good friend with me that other friends of hers are putting a negative influence on me like trying to make her not like me. So, I guess she does like me but, shes listening to her friends thinking that im a bad guy and, shes influenced by that. Jake, you need to give indicators of interest. It sounds to me like you are falling into the "friend" category. Don't let the her friend give you any negative thoughts. If she responds to the indicators of interest, ie. escalating touch, then you are on your way.
I am one though which likes to move kinda slowly but, has steady ground. I dont really like hanging so, those negative comments do affect me and makes my little bit of steady ground start to slip and i begin to worry.
So, do you have any ideas for moving slowly but, with those indicators? What can i do to move this relationship along better? Because, I also dont want to be stuck onto her or else i might make her annoyed that im always there and she will drop me.

Dave, start some small talk about class or an assignment. Try and catch her after a lecture and ask what she thought of it. Come right out and ask her if she would like to get a coffee or yogurt to go over homework ect. Make her wonder if you really are interested in her.
Thanks for the advice Bradwrage! I have already been given opportunities to work with her on assignments but I think I may have blew it by not showing any sign of interest. Do you think I still have a shot at it? Nervousness is my main problem and I draw a blank page in my head throughout the whole class session.

Sergio, try and just talk to the girl more and become friends with her before asking her out. It seems you are a step ahead if she is giving you those indicators of interest.

All those guys seeking advice from you, and taking everything you say as gospel: That's a gold mine! :) Just make sure in your responses to put a caveat: Every girl/woman is different; what works for one may not work for the next. Frankly, I'm surprised your suggestions in this aricle works. From my own experience, they work on guys, not girls... Most girls hate to be touched by an acquaintance, and the cat and mouse game is usually a turn off. If you noticed in your own experiences, when a girl likes you, she usully come up to you and let you know it... That's because she expects the same from you. Men like challenges; women like respect. My caveat is, there are always exception to every rule. Keep hubbing!
Stu- In order to not fall under the "friends" category you have to always be doing something to move the relationship along, that is if you are getting good responses back from her. This can just be something simple as mainting eye contact longer than usual. Calling her up to go out on the weekend. Show interest. You shouldn't have to tell her. Make her realize it.
Shyguy - Some people have a really hard time maintaining conversation. The key to this is simply to just ask questions. Make her do all the work. Doing this shows that you are interested.

2. dont be shy or hide if she finds out you like her

The only possible chance you might have is to show she can't have both. Right now she has you, a guy friend, and her actual boyfriend. Don't completely shut yourself off to her or your feelings. Hey I'm friends with this girl. We have known eachother from kindergarden and now we are friends. We do talk in person and in texts. We talked about school and where we were and what we were doing. In person we would just talk about our day or the summer. We were friends in kindergarden and were never in each others class again so we drifted apart a little but last year at lunch we were sitting by each other and she said we should be friends again.
