The Lion and the Water Bearer

Leo - Aquarius

Aquarius is Air and Fixed. Leo is Fire and Fixed. Their shared fixity predicts interesting challenges. They are both proud in different ways. They are both proud of being stubborn, but also in different ways. We are dealing with real individuals here. This is one of those “transportation and transformation” couplings that I like to name that way for easy comprehension. They can work especially if they are “transported to a new place, and transformed in a new way.” Matching up is what this is about. Sometimes matching up is what is really happening, but the reticence, reluctance, hesitancy or whatever you want to call it, to actually admit, accept and use the good information you need to actually make an improvement, is often the farthest thing from the Ego’s awareness. It is often true that the thing you need the most is the thing you are the least ready to admit.

Aquarius is cool. Could we say almost cold in respect to relationships? Mind you, they do not see themselves as cold; they see themselves as comprehensively humanistic. It is their job to float along the continuum of the passage of time and acknowledge every person they meet, but to not really embrace them. They try to avoid subjectivity. They relish the sense of objectivity; thus, their coolness. It is not arrogance as much as remoteness. Leo has all kinds of warmth and sunny friendship for Aquarius to observe and benefit from. There is a ton for Aquarius to learn from Leo. Leo could stand some of The Water Bearer’s objectivity. Leo could not countenance this. It would be tantamount to asking them not to be Leo, but if you ask their friends, they would say, “Oh yes, they could really stand to be less subjective. It’s not like everything is about them!” Or said quickly: “Leo needs to be more objective about itself.” It is the actual acceptance of these issues that would be required before the two could benefit.

Positive Postulate: The Aquarian and the Leo, actually out there together would be quite a match! Positively speaking, they would bring far-sighted ingenious ideas together with powerful personal strength. Some of the greatest ideas, companies and movements are characterized by great ideas coupled with mighty personal energy. That is what these two have, in the most exalted way. Aquarius and Leo could be paired for magnificent personal and career effort.

Romance Recommendation: Some Aquarians can do without romance. I mean romance in its more elemental form. It is not that they are not loving. They would probably say that they are among the most loving of most all people. That is the puzzle here to be figured. Leo has a whole way of life to offer here. Leo loves back slapping, smooching to say hello, grinning from ear to ear and lots of romance. Aquarius watching and learning from the Lion could be very helpful. Leo’s over-the-top ways could also benefit from the Aquarian coolness. Unless the humanistic can benefit Leo, it won’t tend to respect it. Though humanism is not a common romantic feature, it can present a different perspective.

Conflict Quotient: Aquarius could see this match as a continuum of discussion. They might not even consider their long discussions to be actual conflict. Leo would be bothered by extended talk. The irritation that would arise from their conflicts would be almost as debilitating to the Cat as the issues under conflict themselves. They would want things to be settled with a sense of resolution, so that things were not continually revisited. Loud recriminations from Leo would offend the cooler Aquarian.

Peace Parlay: Life in the end is repetitive and mundane, and so is Romance itself. This factor asks the question: "Can we be bored together over the long term?" Aquarius could only be deemed boring if it was giving too long a speech. Leo, much the same. The Water Bearer would want to stay in the flow of activity and following Leo around is one of the things that could keep away from the hum drum.

Keep Up The Interest Graph: The far seeing Aquarian would be able to draw interest and imagination out of its own mind, and its most recent books on time travel or alternative dimensions. Leo, stretching and marching along its daily haunts has a love of the new and will dare to try whatever it cares to. Interest for the couple would lie in Aquarius being talked into what did not appeal to it immediately.

Seven Year Itchiness: There are some signs that by their nature are more stable in their love interests and family concerns as time goes on. Others are not. If these two were happy and challenging one another, the distraction of a 7 year itch would probably be viewed as highly interruptive of their challenging lives. Aquarius, not moral in the classical sense could allow itself, but it would probably not do so for the waste of energy that it would demand.

RATING:

ASTROCOMPATIBILITY POSSIBILITY RATING: 65% Positive Long Term - 80% Short Term. Aquarius, first focusing on the wild and wonderful Leo might be drawn into its own sense of experimentation, even faster than usual. As time proceeded, Aquarius could be too disengaged for The Cat’s self-fulfillment. These two would be covering new territory for each soul’s former experience. If they became deeply involved a possible long duration is foreseeable.
