Leprosy - Astrological Connection and Gem Therapy

Leprosy is one of the most feared and hated diseases of all times. A week back there was a report at CBC News regarding the oldest skeletal evidence of leprosy dating back to 2000 BC found in Udaipur in India. It may be noted that there is mention of leprosy in the Holy Bible and also some ancient Sanskrit Hymns. Leprosy is an infectious disease caused by Bacteria which affects various parts of the body, particularly the skin and nerves. The name of the disease seems to have derived from the French word "leper" or from the Greek word "lepros" which means scaly. Leprosy is characterized by disfiguring skin sores, nerve damage and progressive debilitation. This disease is also called as Hansen's disease. There are two main types of leprosy: 1)Tuberculoid and 2) Lepromatous. The main problem with leprosy is that the symptoms generally may appear only after three to five years after a person becomes infected. Leprosy symptoms include Eye Problems, Muscle Weakness, Skin Rashes, Skin Stiffness, Skin lesions that are lighter than your normal skin color, Numbness or absent sensation in the hands, arms, feet and legs etc. This is not a hereditary disease. If diagnosed in an earlier stage the complications and symptoms can be controlled. Most Government Hospitals offer free treatment and medicines for this disease.
