Michelle Obama said yesterday, "that for the first time in my adult life, I'm really proud of America." I read a short post on israel forum that Poverty in childhood poisons a child for the rest of their lives. Is this the reason "Michelle Obama has been feeling desperate, alone, frustrated and disappointed all her adult lifetime (about 26 years, given that she's 44) ... until now?
Desperate, alone, frustrated and disappointed as she went to Princeton and Harvard? Got a law degree? Worked for Chicago Mayor Richard Daley? Married, has two children and her husband is running for President? Her American life sounds like a dream, not a nightmare. What's she talking about?
And this is something from a person who was born on the South Side of Chicago. May I say, that she had the benefits of Affirmative Action. This is seems to be a hush hush subject. One of the tenets of the Secret Movie is gratefulness, in fact this is one of the "Secrets" to life. Personally, I can tell you that I grew up in difficult circumstances, possibly not as dire as Michelle's, but there were 9 of us.
I did receive a scholarship and I'm very thankful. Howver, let's look at Michelle's astrology. She has a classical Kalaparusha Yoga that predicts high rise to fame in one's life. she does have those warning signs that I also noted in her husband's chart, namely Mars conjunct the Sun, indicating a violent death. Her birth time is unknown, but I have rectified it to 10 AM which puts Jupiter in the ascendant. However, one of the classic signs of Kalaparusha Yoga is psychological instability, and sometimes this appears when the native does become prominent. Like Britney and Heath. Is that what we're seeing now?
A post on ajc.com suggests that "Michelle Obama owes Martin Luther King & those brave supporters of his movement an apology. She may not have been of age but it was the civil rights movement that gave her the opportunity to attend Princeton & Harvard. Did she pay attention in history class?" However, I think her comments that she's been feeling frustrated and desperate all her adult life need closer examination.
Recently newly elected Governor Deval Patrick's wife, Diane, also a high profile lawyer was diagnosed with depression shortly after his election as Governor of Massachusetts. Possibly, what this is is Michelle's subconscious cry for help. According to Michelle in her thesis introduction (at Princeton): "My experiences at Princeton have made me far more aware of my ‘Blackness' than ever before. I have found that at Princeton no matter how liberal and open-minded some of my White professors and classmates try to be toward me, I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don't belong."... Signs of depression even then.

I'm married to a black man, I have a black granddaughter. You are just displaying signs of clinical depression, and I'm making these comments to help you. It is not a sign of weakness to obtain psychiatric help.

I agree. I felt/ have seen some things that make me feel not everything is as it seems. I watched some of the interveiw of the Obama family had with Access Hollywood, and I sensed Barack is more controlling then one would think.He is actually a more of a flip-flopper than many thought and will do anything to get elected. Michelle is playing a part. -The black woman who always plays second to the man at their own expense. Barack has issues he has never resolved from his childhood and I think he is irratic -given the continual legislative flip-flop votes he makes.
If anyone really studies the charts of both Michelle and Barack Obama, they can easily see where any traits of 'depression' spring from. Firstly, being highly spiritual and versed in not only Astrology, but also in Mataphyisics, I can clearly state that the so-called methods of clinical psychiatry and psychotherapy do not work! They only make the patients that much worse, as those seeking a 'cure' for their ailments are instead subjected to all manners of psychological torment -- deemed to be part of the 'cure'. IMO, if the 'cure' is worse than the so-called 'curse', it's best to just 'not fix something broken'.
Secondly, Michelle is a Sun in Capricorn individual, with her Moon (sub-conscious) in Pisces, the Dreamer; this alone shows the type of personality she has; Capricorn, ruled by the planet Saturn, is a sign NATURALLY given to 'depression, sadness, etc.'; and with her Moon placement in Pisces, the 'inner life' is more important to her than her 'outer' life, although that may not be readily apparent. She also has Saturn, the great inhibitor, in Aquarius, which naturally rules both Capricorn and Aquarius; both signs are often given to sadness, depression, etc. OWING TO THE NATURE OF THE NATURAL RULER OF BOTH SIGNS. Of course, then, she is NOT 'bi-polar' (who made up that label, anyway???), nor is she manic-depressive ... she is just NATURALLY expressing the inhibitive, oppressive nature of her sun sign placement, aided by her Mercury (Reason) also being in Capricorn, and her two placements of Mars and Saturn in Aquarius.
Everyone these days seem to be too easily ready to criticize others, when they should instead look at their own weaknesses and faults. Astrology gives one the tools and abilities to REALLY SEE AND KNOW the human characteristics that are inherent under the different signs and placements in a given chart. The learned Astrologers of the 1800s were vastly more versed in this art than we are today, even with the use of computer techniques and calculations.
So, in parting, I only wish to say that vehement attacks against one's character should not be done or even acknowledged, unless that attacker has been able to walk a mile in their victim's shoes! And before opening one's mouth, one should KNOW whereof they speak!

I noticed that you are given to some generalizations. Manic-depression, or bipolar disorder are both psychiatric illnesses that have been recognized by the medical field for some time now.
I see that you have attacked my credentials and I can tell you that I have a doctorate and have practiced astrology for 25 years. BTW, i am not the first one who has noticed the Obama's mental problems.
OK, I am going to throw a little gas on the fire here, but curious... I have family in the police force who have made it very clear that they are upping staff across the nation for the election. The fear is if Obama looses that there will be mass riots etc in the US. My question is kind of 2 fold.
1. Is this a major concern? I don't know why it is believed that these results will occur if Obama looses but not if McCain does?
2. Honestly what are the odds of him winning. I know for a fact they are bussing people into districts they don't live in (when your family lives in a town that when you leave for vacation and no less than 5 people call to tell you that your son came back home a day early, no joke that happened to my mother in law, I find it hard to believe that there are 6 bus loads of people that no one in the district has ever seen or heard of before that show up for voting). Still does he have enough to buy the electoral college vote? The same way Clinton paid for the Fair Trade Agreement to be passed?
Excuse me, but where did I attack YOUR credentials? I specifically stated my very strong beliefs AND observations of how damaging Psychiatry can and has been on many people. To quote an ancient Native American statement: "WHITE MAN'S MEDICINE IS BAD". I also was friends with a practicing psychologist with MASTERS who told me to my face that 'Psychology only makes matters worse', and who, himself, was beginning to develop psychological 'splits' from dealing with his various patients! Apparently he did not feel at all averse to making these statements, inasmuch as HE was 'attacking' his own credentials. And that is not the first time I have ever heard those statements, from patients and doctors alike.
But getting back to Michelle Obama - I am in accord with you of how just being a First Lady is reason enough to be depressed. Witness how many of the First Wives' lives have turned out - divorce, depression, illness, death from assorted Cancers, etc., with the additional problems of possible or real, rampant infidelity, as ambitious women try to latch onto their men, and the break-down of their marriages due to the stress of that political office. That position is one I would not envy anyone! Given Michelle's native placements of Sun and Mercury in Capricorn, being enhanced by the current transit positions of Jupiter and Pluto, and you can see easily how she may feel even more 'pinched' by these influences.
In re: to your statement of how far back Astrology goes - yes, I am also in accord with you there. A wonderful book that I often use as reference is H.L. Cornell's ENCYCLOPEDIA OF MEDICAL ASTROLOGY, written in the 1800s, which aptly described causes and cures of various ailments, including depression, mania, etc., and how to cure these ills by manipulation of the spine! In the 1800's! (I tried to get a friend of mine - a Chiropractor, with Moon in Gemini, to apply the knowledge I found in that book to his clients; he refused.) I found that book, alone, to be astounding in how advanced the people of that era were, especially in juxtaposition to how unknowing and outright ignorant some are today, in regards to Astrology. Madame H.P. Blavatsky was correct in being worried about the then tendency towards materialism, and how it would effect societies in future. And, here we are all now .....
Astrology is a wonderful science that, if studied and practiced, could alleviate many of today's woes and problems, for undesirable situations and circumstances could easily be sidestepped just by studying the native birth chart, transits, aspects, progressions, returns, and other branches of Astrology, including Sidereal, Horary, and your own. To further back up my claims, I would like to refer anyone to read Max Heindel's MESSAGE OF THE STARS, and review his some 36 example horoscopes in the back of the book. In many of his writings, he easily 'predicts' circumstances in advance of actual events; some of these could have been avoided, had the person known of the benefits of Astrology. Another reference I would like to cite is from A.T. Mann's THE ROUND ART, where he very aptly and successfully not only analyzes natal charts, but is able to go back to the womb to show how determining factors play out in the Horoscope Chart!
Perhaps, one day, we will all be advance ennough to use these very wonderful tools, given to us by God, and able to understand clearly how the planets - God's creations - help or hinder our progress here on earth.

Vrajavala, I really have to comment on how negative I feel your posts to be, in respect to both Michelle and Barack Obama. First of all, as an Astrologer, you have certain morals to uphold, especially when deciphering, relating, or interpreting your astrological findings. It is likened to a criminal action, in some Astrological circles and organizations, to use gossip, slander, or to knowingly hurt another person through the art of Astrology. To publicly post statements inferring that anyone has mental problems, especially on a forum that can hurt said persons' mental or moral character, is despicable, to say the least. This you seem to have no problem doing whatever, and I am also now of the opinion that you are using your forum in a political manner.
You state that the Obama campaign is 'trying to dispirit the Republicans' ... what of their own antics towards and against Barack Obama? There have been so many slams against his name, so many continued attacks against Obama, slurs and innuendos (i.e., both Sen. McCain and VP elect Sarah Palin whipping crowds to a fever pitch with their bogus "He's paling around with known terrorists" until the crowd starts to yell, "KILL HIM!!!") yet Senator Obama comports himself not only with the dignity and pride which his Sun-sign demonstrates (Leo), but also by refusing to stoop to the same antics as his opponents. And in regards to your comments suggesting "sexism" and "secrets", let me please remind you that 'hearsay' is something that can rarely be concretely counted on. However, I will leave the politics where they belong - out of my post, for the most part, and hopefully OFF of this forum, as much as possible. Patty- sorry had to ask a quick question... you brought up hate and comments that the Rep. have made and said that Obama held himself "not only with the dignity and pride" and then "also by refusing to stoop to the same antics as his opponets" I find this rather an odd statement. Have you read his book?
I believe if he opened his mouth on the subject there is no way he would be on that platform and those who have paid for him to be there would never allow that to happen. He absoluetly HATES white people, as does his wife. This is not me being racist (I really wish Rep had a better option than McCain), but if my options are McCain and Obama there is no doubt, I KNOW that Obama plans to do things against my race in the form of retibution not to mention redistribution of money I work hard for.
But as you say politics aren't the question here, just bringing up that Obama doesn't respond because he has learned there is no way he would have gotten where he is by doing so. In otherwords it is not that he is a better person, just that he can't afford it.

I don't see Obama as evil, at all. Matter of fact, I have been vibing into him, and while I see many good points that he has, I do have to say that he seems to be toting a degree of ANGER, which I am mystified about. But let's dish astrologically. I do know that Obama has Aquarius Rising, and often these folks can get mad and fire jumps into their eyes! Maybe some of you here on this forum noticed that during his last few speeches. I have a sister who is Sun/Aquarius, Leo Rising, Moon/Aries, and boy can she get mad at the drop of a hat! She is much like Obama, in nature, as she has similar positions in her chart to his. What most folks don't know about the sign, or those that have Aquarius placed strongly in their chart, is that Aquarius is usually MILES ahead of other people. They are BORN geniuses, and usually have to grapple with the slow-witted, dim thought processs of others. And since he is the FIRST black man ever to ascend to the high position of President-elect, you can bet that he has had to endure enormous slings and arrows, death threats, attempts against his life, danger to his family .... perhaps that is where the anger I am seeing is coming from. I'm sure the power movers and shakers that really control things in Washington (TPTB) are making him jump through hoops to get to his goals; that, alone, could cause a simmering anger to begin, IMO. Abraham Lincoln was a Sun/Aquarius, and I'm sure that he often got very angry at the cruel and unneeded antics of most people, especially as Aquarius is the sign of the Humanitarian. Unfortunately for us all, the lofty dreams of Aquarius rarely come true in the manner they wish them to!But now the PEOPLE have spoken, and have duly elected Barack Obama as their standing President - and this office is natural to his Sun/Leo sign, the sign of the Royal Ruler. These posts are very interesting. I cannot say that I speak the absolute truth, but my opinion stands.
vrajavala -- I do think that you are exhibiting an unusual amount of hostility towards Barak Obama, and I am not above suggesting that you have issues with race. Barak Obama is not just black. His mother is white. He is also a white man. That we consider mulattos black is purely cultural and has nothing to do with actual genetics. If you wanted to push the issue, you could claim that he is white. And I do not believe that he dislikes other white people. I see nothing in any of his statements to indicate such a position. That seems to be entirely your view, which is impossible to see in his chart. Don't let your personal views damage astrology.
In regards to mental illness, Saturn ruled signs are more prone to depression, however, depression is not a natural state. People with Capricorn shouldn't be depressed on account of their sun sign. Astrology has gotten off the mark here. Michele Obama comments may not be entirely do to her experience as a Capricorn, but the black experience in general. When people are discriminated against, they have higher levels of depression. Her comments are hardly unusual for an African American woman in the United States. They are even understandable since the US has many myths about black women such as depicting them all as hyper-sexual with low IQ's. She is an extremely attractive woman, and her experience attending a white dominated college as a minority female may have been negative. To deny that a black female could possibly face discrimination at a prestigious college is naive; women are still discriminated against at colleges and they are routinely sexually harassed.
PattyF: You comments are interesting. I agree with you that the mental health profession has done more damage to the mentally ill than good, however, natural cures have a very poor track record. Rediction in sugar and caffine intake seems to help with mood stabilization, however. It would appear that the mental ill are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Unfortunately, I do not think that astrology disproves mental illness. Bi-polar is regarded as a disorder with unknown origin and causes that seems to be linked with dysfunction of both the endocrine and neurological system.
I agree with part of your argument that bi-polar is simply over diagnosed and people's natural astrological cycles are never considered. (Nor is bad behavior.) It is no surprise that a lot of mental health problems are simple stress reactions to difficult transits, however, the extremes of bi-polar 1 disorder would not fit well to this simple explanation; cyclothymia and bi-polar 2 are more suitable to such an argument.
Astrologers should be very careful giving medical consultations because the ramifications are extremely serious. It is ill advised for someone to stop taking mood stabilizes and anti-psychotics. Stopping the medications alone can cause the patient to go into a mania. A good rule of thumb would be not to go where angels fear to tread. Psychiatry is a disaster, but the solution lies in the proper administering of medication (many doctors are simply incompetent to work with the medications that they do have), and the research of better drugs. Going all nature for people who are truly mentally is is often just a death sentence. Besides, we have seen the whole all natural method before: water dunking Benjimin Rush cure is just cruel. Hydrotherapy, massage, dietary supplements, energy work, and kit and kabbutal of other hoaxes do not work as a cure for bi-polar 1 just like they do not work to cure eplipsey.
