Aloe Vera Leaves
First Aid for Burns
Immediately immerse the burnt skin in ice water to allow the burning sensation to stop or at lease diminish drastically. If done quickly, it may even prevent blistering of the skin.
Allow the skin to cool in the water and ice for about five minutes until throbbing ceases or lessens considerably.
Pat the burn dry and hold an ice pack covered in cloth on the area for 5-20 minutes, depending on the severity of the burn.
Aloe vera heals burns
When it comes to at home burn treatments, an Aloe vera plant is your best friend.
Aloe vera gel has incredible healing properties for skin damaged by burns, scrapes, scratches and minor abrasions.
For a simple, quick natural burn remedy, simply squeeze aloe vera gel from the plant leaf onto the affected skin. Cover with a bandage and change the dressing every few hours at first, less frequently as it heals.
Make an aloe burn remedy
Make an aloe-based burn remedy preparation to speed healing. Since it will keep for about two months in the fridge, make this now and keep it on hand for little burns and skin damage. This is great for sunburn, too.
Mix in blender:
3/4 cup peeled, sliced aloe vera leaf
1200 mg powdered vitamin C
1000 IU vitamin E oil
1/2 teaspoon lavender essential oil
Apply this to the burn several times daily.

My sister bought an aloe vera plant and keeps it by her sink, on the window sill, where she remembers to water it. The plant has grown huge since she got it and she keeps giving it a bigger pot. Every time someone has a burn or scrape at her house, there's aloe on it within seconds or minutes. I think it's a great idea! :)
I'm going out to buy some aloe vera. I'm forever burning my hands. Great advice. And welcome to hubpages. I'm a relative newbie and I find it a warm and welcoming community. The veterans here are very generous.

Aloe vera! I wish I had some when I burnt my hand a few weeks ago making cookies. I had to use neosporin.
