Atlanta Lofts

There are so many cool finds for lofts around Atlanta and surprisingly online. It's hard to find modern furniture at an affordable price and especially in Atlanta.

However, it is not impossible. My all time affordable favorite in Atlanta is Ikea. http://www.ikea.com/ . Located in Atlantic Station at 441 16th Street NW you can find inexpensive modern knockoffs that are surprisingly ok quality.

Imagine taking a modern leather sofa through the checkout line, loading it on your truck, taking it home and then 3 months later changing your room design and going back to Ikea to buy a different couch. I call it disposable chic. With the best selling Klippan 2 seater couch for $199 and a 60 day return policy how can you make a mistake? Ligne Roset has also found a home in Atlanta. http://www.ligne-roset-usa.com/.

Located at 805 Peachtree Street in Midtown in the bottom retail section of Peachtree Street Lofts this is a great starting point for modern loft design. It also sits very close to two other modern marvels - Space and Kartel. Typically priced out of the normal people range, if you want a modern Bulthuap kitchen http://www.bulthaup.com/. at a $20,000 price point, Space http://www.atlanta.bulthaup.com/. claims to be the only place in Atlanta where you can find it.

Design within Reach http://www.dwr.com/. is still in Buckhead but has moved recently. It is now located in a hip new 2 story space at 2451 Peachtree Street. Go in there and talk to my friend Ladie Anderson. He will lead you through the modern classics of Mies van der Rohe and Knoll that make great design statements for lofts. Design Within Reach has exclusive licensing for some of Europe's famous old and new designers. Relatively expensive but less than most modern furniture stores, Design within Reach offers exactly just that - modern design within the reach of most people's pocketbooks.
