 Atlanta Georgia is the major transportation hub and travel terminal of the Southeast. In fact, looking back through the history of Atlanta, it was originally named “Terminus”. Located on a plateau in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Atlanta Georgia is not only a great tourist destination but also ranks as one of the greenest, most beautiful cities in the United States.

Why Atlanta is a Great City to Travel to!

Traveling to Atlanta is easy because it is home to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the busiest airport in the world. The Downtown Connector is aptly named for the three major interstates I-75, I-85, and I-20 which intersect together at a corridor in Downtown Atlanta. Although Peachtree Road is the major street that runs through Atlanta there are over 100 roads and streets with the name of Peachtree in it!

Metro Atlanta has an explosive population currently over 5 million people (currently 5.6 million) on its way towards six million and ranks eighth in the country. Since the year 2000 Atlanta ranks as the number one fastest growing area in the country in terms of numerical increase.

Atlanta ranks as the third largest city in the nation and has the fastest growing millionaire population in the United States. Atlanta Georgia is the major Travel destination and transportation hub of the Southeast.

There are so many things to do in Atlanta and the surrounding Metro area that it is hard to imagine. In addition to that, there are numerous cities and towns you can travel to in a day in Georgia and its neighboring states of Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama.
